LOVE LOST

The love I wanted was not meant to be
My heart so filled with love it failed to see

I could hear his heart beating so close to mine
He's eyes so blue, but mine were blind

I remember his kisses, his soft gentle touch
and when he smiled, the sky opened up
My heart still yearns for him so very much

Time marches on and the years have passed
Yet, my heart still beats for him til the very last

I only have memories, that's all I have left
And it is the memories that will remain until death

I often wonder, do I ever cross his mind,
or have the memories marched on, as did with time

Does he ever see my face in a crowd,
and want to shout my name aloud

I don't know all of the answers, I only know me
and this love will last to eternity

I Walk a Gentler Walk

I walk a gentler walk
On a road of many miles

I traveled down paths of flowers with seed
Traveled down paths grown up in weeds

They signify the good times and the bad
That this journey through life isnt all that bad

Ive memories of gentle breezes
that brushed across my face
Of laughter and tears and of Gods wonderful grace

Ive walked upon gravel, stone, and sand
Only to find, he never let go of my hand

He carried me when I was too weak to breathe
He held me close and said he would never leave

We traveled down those paths of flowers and weeds
He held my hand, he touched my face
He saved me with his wonderful grace

No, life isnt all that bad
He brings me joy when I am sad
He lightens my load of burdens and woe
He brings me peace, hes within my soul
Peace that lasts throughout time
Peace to travel through this life of mine

Until that day when I look upon his face
I know life was given to me by his wonderful grace

Faith of Our Father

If I could take back all of the heartache
If I could take back all of the pain
Would your life be fulfilling or would it be in vain
I died upon the cross for you
Your soul I wanted to save
To give you eternal life, in a place I now remain
Can you give me one second in time
Can you raise your voice in praise
Can you give thanks to the Father, the Son, and Holy Ghost
Or will you stand there feeling empty and unafraid to boast
Someday I'll return to you upon a cloud of white
I'll shout the praises of Zion and fight the devils fight
And when the battle is over and the saints have victory
I'll stand at the gates of Heaven
My arms outstretched to thee

When our Father speaks to our heart it is always a blessing.
But is our heart ready to receive those blessings or are we ashamed.
All of us have had at least one true wish. This poem represents all of the wishes in my heart for the one I love.

One Wish

If I could have but one wish it would be
To be in your arms until eternity
To lie beside you and rest in your arms
knowing Im safe and where I belong
I would wish for happiness each and every day
For laughter and joy along the way
I would wish for strength in the good times and bad
Make sure we were strong and gave it all we had
I would wish for contentment throughout our lives
And a deep, true love strong enough to survive
I would wish for peace and harmony
and for an everlasting love for eternity
I would pray for blessings from above
and always give thanks for our love
I would wish to be with you forever more
To love you and protect you
until we reached that final shore
