1998 Superior Tree About 2 weeks before the season was to start, Derek made the decision that he was no longer interested in running the main team anymore. It had been a good six years...the team had went from terrible to near unstoppable...but it was time for a change. The team was amidst alot of political bullshit, and Tony, Derek and Jimmy all left to play with Superior Tree. Alot of the long time players remained with the Mariner's Harbor team for years to come. What resulted was probably the best and most gratifying season of all time. If there was ever a season played that epitomized the word "team", this was it. While the majority of the Superior Tree players were the same from the previous season's horrible squad, the team immediately saw marked improvement. Always able to battle back, they won 9 games won by 2 or less runs. Each player on the team had career years. Tony, Keith and Lance Gilbert had particularly strong years, and Derek was batting near .700 when an injury sapped his effectiveness. In the end, they lost only one regular season game, and that was by one run - in extra innings. Unfortunately, their storybook season came to a close when they were upset by The Anchorage in the semifinals. Roster Tony Troccia, Charlie Freer, Gary Felice, Derek Snyder, Keith Nickerson, Rob Hand, Lance Gilbert, Brian Lowe, Scott Liese, Kevan Dudek, George Resso, Jimmy Dixon, Leroy Martin Memorable Moments
