| A*Team VS Honkees |
| Both teams went into the match uncontrollably nervous as the winner of this match proceeded to the semi-finals. The A*Team had an impressive starting line-up consisting of Cameron Conway, Ben Friz, the twins and Liam Bennet. But one could not compare this side to the physical enormity of the Honkee side. Such team members as Julian Chan, Thomson Liu, Tim Wu and Shaboobabadoobaba showed those in attendance that they could mix it up with the best of them. Ali Alsa-Mail/rascist fiend was the ref for the event. The game started off with the Honkees applying some early pressure straight after the kick-off however Liam Bennet proved a valuable asset in his defensive position. The Twins also played in defence so it was obvious to the most dimwitted of grasshoppers that the A*Team were playing a defensive game. The star of the team, Cameron Conway got some early shots in but were stopped by the worthy Honkee keeper Terance Law. (Lau?) The A*Team continued their dominant ways for the better part of the half with both sides missing out on worthy chances. The biggest chance for the A*Team came when *superstar* Drew Hoare slotted the ball past Honkee defender David Qian straight to the feet of striker of Cameron who was unlucky not to get the ball past Terance. (Possibly distracted by Sarah Nam???) The whistle blew for half time but both teams were eager to get back on the field due a time restriction, so the teams were back on the field in no time at all. The whistle was blown for the second half to commence and it was plain to see the mid-field dominance being displayed by Ben Friz and Liam Bennet. The hordes of people in attendance were obviously getting restless and wanted a goal and/or blood. Humourous chants were in abundance, being lead principally by Ben Au, Tom Lung, William Kwok, Big Man and Warren Logge. The atmosphere created by these students was unbelievable. Possibly caught up in the emotions, Tom Hoare let one slip through and caused A*Team keeper Ben Mitchell to make a wonderous save against the striking power of Tim Wu. The A*Team struck back with some powerful, on-target shots from A*Team striker Cameron Conway. This gave the A*Team some inspiration to persevere in their efforts but were unsuccessful. The lunchtime bell rang so a penalty shoot-out was brought into effect. However after two shots (which both missed) Mr Parker (PSP) brought the game into blatant disrepute and quote, "Kick that ball and you LOSE IT!" unquote, so the shoot-out has been scheduled for tuesday recess. The game ended a 0-0 draw. |
