                       Revision Date - 30 August, 1999

                ***** FS5.1 INSTALLATION *****
========================================================================

1. PRELIMINARY INSTRUCTIONS
   ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
This scenery employs a special FSASM objects file, named FSASM.FSO, which
must be installed. This file is found in FSAFSO10.ZIP which is enclosed
in AQLD9909-1.ZIP.

Install FSASM.FSO per instructions found in README.TXT which accompanies
FSAFSO10.ZIP. If you already have FSASM.FSO installed, there is no need
to reinstall as there is only one version of FSASM.FSO available.

Note: This special objects file allows much more dense scenery
to be employed without running out of the 256K FS5.1 visual
limit, from any one viewing point in a 10 km radius, even if the
visual range of the object is set for less. For example, each
windsock, with a range of only about 2000 m, uses at least 7K.
At Sydney Airport, the 7 windsocks would use about 50K of the
256K limit, were it not for FSASM.FSO. This would severely limit
remaining visual capacity for other objects, eg, even those as
far away as would be seen when approaching Bankstown Airport and
    in Sydney City.

Delete or deactivate any previous version of QLD scenery or any
scenery which contains components in QLD from other sources. If this is
not done, there could be significant visual conflict and/or lockups could
be encountered.

If you already have the three OAV texture files installed in the main
(FS51)\TEXTURE directory, there is no need to re-install or overwrite them.
But overwrite will not be harmful.

If you already have some OzPack R8 texture files installed, these should be
overwritten with the R8 files included with this new version.

Finally, backup the file WORLD.VIS file in the (FS51)\SCENERY directory to,
say, WORLD.BAK. If something goes wrong, you can recover by simply copying
WORLD.BAK to WORLD.VIS.

2. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
   ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
IMPORTANT!!!!!: The drive and directory names used below are meant as an
example. Other drives and directory names could be used.

Establish a directory structure as follows:

   C:\FSLIB\OZPACK\SCENERY
   C:\FSLIB\OZPACK\TEXTURE

If you add non-OzPack scenery later, you could add to this structure
as follows:

   C:\FSLIB\(other_1)\SCENERY
   C:\FSLIB\(other_1)\TEXTURE

   C:\FSLIB\(other_n)\SCENERY
   C:\FSLIB\(other_n)\TEXTURE

Copy the:
    BGL scenery files to C:\FSLIB\OZPACK\SCENERY
    R8 texture files to C:\FSLIB\OZPACK\TEXTURE.

And if you don't already have the OAV files installed in the
(FS51)\TEXTURE directory, copy the:
    OAV texture files to C:\FSLIB\OZPACK\TEXTURE.

to the two new OzPack directories without further FS5.1 Scenery Library
manipulation.

In order to derive the most enjoyment and functionality from this scenery,
it is strongly recommended that you read READ_QLD.TXT and the notes in
NAV_QLD.TXT. It is also recommended that you print the Facilities
Directory section of NAV_QLD.TXT and the maps (QLD1N/QLD1S/QLD2.pcx or .bmp)

Finally, please ensure that you print DONATE.TXT and mail your generous
donation to the Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia, at your earliest
opportunity.

!!!! PLEASE KEEP THE FLYING DOCTORS FLYING !!!!

Keep AQLD9909-1.ZIP in a safe place in case you lose or damage one or more of
its archived files.

3. OPTIMISING YOUR COMPUTER FOR FS5.1
   ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Note: The following notes are only meant for users who are operating FS5.1
in a non-Windows (W3.1x or W95) environment.

It may be useful to investigate your computer configuration. The following
settings give good FS5.1 performance when operating under DOS 6.20:

!!!!!! CAUTION !!!!!!
You'll need to amend the following example settings for your own paths and
number of drives, and add settings for your own sound system and mouse.
Then run MEMMAKER to optimise for your own equipment. If you're not
experienced with altering PC configurations, ask an experienced friend to
help, or your dealer.

The authors can not take responsibility if you screw-up your computer.
See READ_QLD.TXT, Section J, Warranty.
