Surrender to the Pattern
The hardest of life's lessons to learn
Must be taught by life's hardest times.
To love, to lose, and to love again,
This has become my new life.
I remember as it was before.
All I have is as it is now.
What should I think about what will be?
What sort of prize do I fight for?
I have never felt pain like this.
I hope to never again.
Yet, here I am in the same situation,
Trying to fight the same curse.
To love, to fail, to lose, and to fall.
To this I seem doomed yet once more.
My whole life is the same scene in a play,
With the audience shouting, "Encore."
I wish to be free of these shackles,
The shackles of love lived and lost.
I wish to move on to a new life.
I will pay whatever the cost.
