COLLEGE BUILDINGS

 

 

 

COLLEGE MUSEUM is the symbolic representation of Military College Jhelum. It has the national flag which reflects the lesson of national sacrifse which this college is teaching to its students. The museum was inaugrated by Ex-Prime Minister Islamic Republic of Pakistan Mr.Muhammad Nawaz Shareef on 16-September-1991. It is almost in the centre of the college. It pocesses all the history of the college in shape of pictures, audios, videos and in printed form. All sort of material which gives the name of college is available here. Beside this it has the items and picrures of the individuals who were the 'Alamgirians' and sacrificed their lives for the nation.

 

 

 

YAADGAR-E-SHUHADA is a dedicated place for the memory of all "shaheeds" who laid their lives for their motherland and belonged to this college. It was inaugrated by Gen. Muhammad Iqbal (Ex-Chairman Joint Chief of Staff Committe) in 1984. It is surrounded by beautiful lawn from all the sides which is named as "Yadgaar Lawn". On all the national and college historical days, a wreath lying ceremony helds which is infact a salute to the great people who brightened the name of "PAKISTAN" and "MILITARY COLLEGE JHELUM".

 

 

 

.....MUSA HALL is the main gathering hall of Military College Jhelum. It is used basically for all the functions which are meant for the whole college. Programmes like Moarning Assembly, Lectures by the guest speakers, Competitions like Debate, Declamations, and Extempore are held. Beside this on every Saturday night the movie is telecasted which is the most favourite activity by the cadets over here. It was inaugurated by Gen. Muhammad Musa (COAS) in 1964. It is a well furnished and fully equiped place of the college.

 

 

 

SAEED RASHID BLOCK is one of the academic block dedicated to the memory of great "Prof.Saeed Rashid" inaugrated recently by Lt.Gen. Muhammad Iqbal (Ex-Governer Punjab) on Alamgirians Re-Union (19-November-2000). Prof. Saeed Rashid has been teaching in these classes for decades. Infact today these classes make us feel his presence among all of us.

 

 

 

 

COLLEGE MOSQUE was inaugrated in 1984 by Gen.Muhammad Iqbal Khan (Ex-CJCSC). It is the main mosque of the college. Although it remains open for all the five prayers but Maghrib Prayers are compulsory for all the cadets. Beside this "Jumma" prayers are also observed regularly. In the holy Month of Ramazan "Taravih" prayers are also in the schedule of all the cadets.

 

 

 

 

COMMANDANT OFFICE 's view, it was constructed in 1937. It has been recently renovated without altering its basic structure.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Inside view of the LANGUAGE LAB. while cadets are observing a class which is a facility for all of them to improve English Language. Military College is pocessing one of a few such well equipped labs in all over Pakistan. It carries a good audio and video systems. Instructor pays additional attention on all the students. It was inaugrated in 1994. It is on the left most corner of Musa Hall.

 

 

 

IQBAL LIBRARY is main library of the college. It was inaugrated in 1982. It carries more than 30000 (Thirty Thousand) books on nearly all the subjects. Book reading is one of a good thing which is compelled at the college. Every cadet is asked to issue one book of English and one of Urdu before long vocations, so that they should read it and become able to present the book review after the holidays in front of class and instructors. It improve confidence and habits. Almost all types of news papers and magazines are bought every day. It also carries audio and video sections. The record of library is maintained by computer. It remains open on Sundays so that cadets should spend their maximum time on holiday over here. Instead of Sundays it remain closes on Monday.

 

 

 

 

CADETS HOUSES

Cadets hostels consists of six houses, 4-Senior and 2-Junior houses.

The boys of 8th class belongs to the junior houses namely Mehmood Ghaznavi House (M.G.H.), & Babur House (B.H.). These building are among the oldest buildings of the college. Each building pocesses about 9 to 10 Rooms for cadets in all (including Prefects), beside this House Store, Common TV (ANTE) room, House Office & 2 - Bath Rooms are there in each house. Onn left and right sides the residences of House Master & Assistant House Master are there.

 

 

 

MGH is the oldest among all the cadet houses. It was constructed in 1925 but still it doesn't seems to be so much old.

 

 

 

 

Mehmood Ghaznavi House (M.G.H.)

 

 

 

BH is also of the same days and same architecture as MGH. It is near the college mosque and opposite to the memorial of 1st World War martyres.

 

 

 

 

Babur House (B.H.)

 

 

 

The boys of 9th, Metric, First Year and Second Year classes are accommodated in Senior houses which includes Aurangzeb House (A.Z.H.), Tipu Sultan House (T.S.H.), Jinnah House (J.H.), & Iqbal House (I.H.).

 

 

 

Aurangzeb and Tipu Sultan Houses were built in 1950s, but are still in very good conditions. Each house has 16 rooms (9 - big rooms for cadets, 2 - rooms for the Prefects, 1- House Store, 1- House Office, 1 - Ante Room & 2 Bath Rooms). These houses have beautiful lawns, pocessing good variety of trees of Orange Family. 2 residences of officers with each house, which are belonging to the House Masters (H.M.) & Assistant House Masters (A.H.M.) .

 

 

 

 

 

 

Aurangzeb House (A.Z.H.)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Tipu Sultan House (T.S.H.)

 

 

 

 

 

This architecture was built in early 1990s which is latest. Each of the house of this pattern carries about 34 rooms (24 - Cadets Rooms, 2 - Prefects Rooms, 1-House Office, 1- House Store, 1- Ante Room, 1 Class room, & 4 - Bath Rooms). These houses are double storied.

A view of JINNAH HOUSE. It is among very new buildings of college...Few years back it was used to be junior house along with Iqbal house instead of MGH and BH. It was inaugrated in 1990.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

IQBAL HOUSE was inaugrated by Gen. Abdul Waheed (COAS) on Nov 03, 1993. It is the most latest cadet residence building at the college.
