Mater Ecclesiae is a (traditional) organization that believes
that our Catholic roots come from the Mass that was developed
from the time of the Apostles.
This Traditional Mass should be allowed to every Catholic in order to know and
understand where our Religion originated and how this Mass
should be honored as the Mass handed to Peter our first Pope.
This Traditional Mass is allowed by Indult only one time a week by
our local bishop even though petitions have been delivered
from other churches to indicate greater interest. We believe that this
suppression of the Mass is detrimental to our Catholic future. Facts
indicate that vocations flourish under Traditional enviroments.
The Holy Father's request for a "Liberal Allowance" of the Traditional
Mass as stated in Vatican II Document "Sacrosanctum Concillum" para 4.
is not being honored in the Houston - Galveston Diocese.
Mater Ecclesiae believes in supporting all people and events that will
aid in the increase of knowledge and participation of the true liturgy
in Accordance with the "Ecclesiae Dei Commission".
We truly believe that 2000 years of history and tradition are still
vital and necessary for our modern times. In this rich Deposit of Faith we
desire the unlimited allowance of the Traditional Mass on a daily basis
in the Houston - Galveston Diocese.
We have the impression from the office of our Bishop that we are
second class citizens because of the "lack of response" to the needs
and requests of the Traditional Faithful in this diocese.
