| Party Platform - the statement of beliefs and program of action that a political party proposes to take. It is issued at the party's national convention. Legislation - A proposed or enacted law or group of laws. Parliament - A national representative body having supreme legislative powers within the state. Caucus - A closed meeting of a group of persons belonging to the same political party or faction usually to select candidates or to decide on policy; also a group of people united to promote an agreed-upon cause Democracy - a government for the people, in which the supreme power is vested in the people and exercised by them directly or indirectly through a system of representation usually involving periodically held free elections |
