We went to Thailand in February with some Japanese friends. It was a Japanese package tour, which meant little sleep and lots of transports in the oddest hours. However, we spent most time on Koh Samui, which was a very nice tropical island. Most tourists were German and Swedish, and the only Japanese were Mayumi, Shogo and Mori.

Bangkok has many nice golden temples. Quite gorgeous compared to Japanese ones, according to Mayumi. The city has modernized quickly compared to Johans last time to visit there, about ten years ago.
