On our honeymoon we visited Egypt. It was hot and crowded, but there was also much to see. The pyramids (especially the older ones in Sakkara), the temples in Luxor, the valley of the Kings, and Tutankamen; just to mention some of the highlights.

Cairo is busy and polluted, but the rest of Egypt is much calmer. If you go to Egypt, avoid Cairo and go for a cruise down the Nile.
