| The MiG-1.42, or the MiG-35, is in many ways the Russian equivalant of the F-22, it shows stealth technology, internal weapons, thrust-vectoring (3d, unlike the F-22's 2d vectoring), and many other traits, although with the Russian econemy, this aircraft will likely have to be a lot cheaper than the Raptor. Mapo, (the Russian equivalant of Nasa, helped Mikoyan design and test this remarkable aircraft. The aircraft will be known as a MFI (or Multi-role Fighter/Interceptor) it is known in the west as a "AFIski". If the 1.42 enters services it may push the US to design a new fighter, for this mikoyan design is showing that it may be superior in many ways. The plane is supposed to enter service in the next 5 years. This mark will be pushed by the forward swept S-37, the first forward swept military aircraft since Junkers WWII Bomber. The MiG-35 is being held in ver high secrecy, this explains the minimum amount of pictures and information available. |
