Why do we lie? I'm not necessarily talking about lying just to save our own skins. But I've noticed that some people will lie just to save themselves from even the smallest of consequences. Lying is something that has intrigued me for quite a while. The possibilities are endless. It is the ability to mislead people. I consider it a skill. But admittedly there are some times where it's not appropriate. There are conditions in witch I consider it acceptable to lie. Although I realize that the truth is more acceptable. But if the risk of being caught outweighs the consequences then I can't see what's wrong. But only in certain circumstances. Some of the situations that I see as okay to lie your way out of are as follows. Any time that someone is in physical danger I would lie so save them. If they are in a though situation and I feel that it's not their fault then I would lie to help them. But not if them directly came to me and asked to do it. Any time I lie would be because I feel that it would be a worthy cause. And I never lie to save myself from anything save physical harm. Other then that I'm afraid my sense of morals wouldn't let me. So what I'm trying to say is that lying is not the all bad thing that it's commonly depicted as. I have said in the past that I am "not above lying". So I believe that it's okay to lie. But lie responsibly. To bad the definition of responsibly varies from person to person. Such is life.
