No, not cigarette filters, as I'm sure was the first thing most of you thought of. I'm going to talk about a new theory I thought up. Now one day I was reflecting of the personalities of my friends. And I noticed that a big factor was what they say. What amout, how sensilbe, how insensible, maturity, how well thought out.... So I wondered if I could come up with a system that would explain this. And this is what I came up with.
I belive that everyone has two 'filters' that control what they say. The first is a mental filter that conrols what you think. It determins what bits of your unconsious become consious thought. So if it's a really fine grade filter you won't be thinking of many thoughts but the really important ones. This doesn't mean that you'll be thinking less, just in more detail of what you do think of. However, if it's a really course filter then everything will get throught and you'll have a lot of choice about what to say. More choice equils more chances to screw up.
The second filter is a mouth filter. Any ideas that have gotten beyond the first one are now considered and those that pass are acctually spoken. Naturally the second filter has a greater effect on your personality and what you say. It is thus more important. Myslef I think that I have a really course first and normally a fine second. Thus I'm always thinking of a lot at once but not much of that reaches my mouth. When I'm around friends the second filter useually gets more course. Well that concludes my new theory.
