| Well all hear the same old phrophacies of doom. Natural disaster, plague, really big metior, world war three, third anti-christ. Same old same old. But I go to thinking. What is vary likely ( even logicaly ) going to happen in the future of the human race that would ultimatly spell it's doom? I mean there's no doubt that a big enough war, plague or metior couldn't do that but there's no way of knowing if those will ever happen. Lets just hope that they won't. But I did come up with one thing that might end civilization as we know it. But it would help with your understanding if I indroduce the subject correctly first. So bare with me, it'll all make sense in the end. Weathermen. They predict the weather fairly accuratly. Seriously, all jokes aside, complaire the accuracy of todays forcasting with the almost non-exsitant ones of say 200 years ago. Now, lets apply that to a bigger scale. Lets say that 2000 years from now, in the year 4000, scientist develope a computer that can forcast the furtre of our society. Or we find any other semi-relyable way of seeing our future. What would that lead to? Well lets think. If you knew that you where going to fail a test would you study? Probably not. Yhen we get into not studying being the cause of your failing in the future but that theory just goes in endless circles so I'll leave that part of this alone. So society finds out that various proablemes that it's working on will never be fixed. Soon to follow would be a world-wide depression. And proably more then a few scuicides. Mass anarchy, more criminal activity, incress in the numbers of drug users trying to escape reality. It's not hard to imagine this stuff happening. So my major prediction for the day is then end of civilization when we can see the future. |
