| Nothing really deep this time. Just an interesting fact of science that my science teacher told our class about. Everyone knows about atoms. At thier center there is a group of protons and a bunch of electrons orbit around them. Well there is a theory about what will happen when a atom reaches the temperature known as absolute zero. For those of you that don't know absolute zero, or zero degrees Kelvin, is equile to exactly -273 degrees Celsius or -460 degrees Fahrenheit ( for you americans ). Now that's cold! Now as you may or may not know, the colder the atom gets the slower the electrons move. The only reason that electrons aren't pulled into the center of the atom by the protons gravity is because of how fast they go. So logicly if they slowed to the poin of not moveing then gravity should take over. If the electrons are pulled into the center of the atom then the atom should colaps. Scientists haven't succeded in creating absolute zero yet bu if they did it wouldn't last long seeing as the machine creating it would disintigrate. There is no real point in telling you this but I find it rather interesting. |
