| ***** Now this is a movie. First of all, it's an anime (Japanese animation) movie. Wich useually means two things. Lots of action and special effects that could never be pulled off in live action. It is based in the future. Mankind is able to implant numerous cybernetic (machines that need organic componants to live) in everyones body. Thus bluring the line between human and machine. The only part of the human body that can't be duplicated or replaced is the brain. Or the Ghost. The Human Spirit, if you will. But then a form of artifical intelligence is created and it claims to be alive. So basicly the whole point of the movie is to make you think about what it means to be 'alive'. That concept probably seems boreing to most of you but there are parts of the movie for you to. There are some amazing action scenes. Just listen to this quote. " 'What did you bring with you?' 'Standard issue big gun' ". Pretty nice. What also makes this intereting is that the main charater is a near compleat android (like a cyborg but doesn't need organic parts at all. Compleatly machine). The only organic componant to her is her Ghost. Thus 'Ghost in the Shell'. So the graphics are astounding. The plot line is extreamly interesting (at least to me). And there is pleanty of action. This movie comes highly recomened. But with a small warning. It contains one or two scenes of really graphic violence and a few of female nudity. All animated of caurse. So watching it with your preaents and/or younger siblings is not recomended. But don't let that stop you. |
