Our Honeymoon in Cancun!

Here are some of the pictures we took...
Cancun. View from the hotel room. Goofy tourist on the right.

Cancun. Another gorgeous view, this time from Parque Nizuq where Bent swam with Dolphins!

Chichen-Itza. The happy couple in front of a Cenote (circular hole in the ground created by an underground river)

Chichen-Itza, historic Mayan city. We're in front of the observatory...

Chichen-Itza. How cool is this?! Pyramid build by the Mayans as a temple and a calendar...

Chichen-Itza. The view from the top of the pyramid. In the background we have the house of the warriors and the plaza of a 1000 columns. The pyramid is pretty steep and there's quite a ways down, so the smiles are a little anxious!

Chichen-Itza. The Ball court. Here the Mayans played fierce games. The goal of the games was to get the ball through the little ring you see above Miko. One problem: you could only touch the ball with your hip!

Xcaret. The first thing we did in Xcaret was to take a little boat out to the coral reef, which is the second longest in the world after that unknown one in Australia. In other words: we're in the ocean! It stretches from the Yucatan peninsula in Mexico down through Belize and into Guatamala.
No "fish" tank or the like. This is the real deal.

Xcaret. More of the real deal. Check out the coral reef! Would have been a cool picture if it wasn't for that dead body that floated by!

Xcaret. Our very skilled underwater tourguide found this well disguised Stingray. He later picked it up!

Xcaret. An authentic Mayan village. Ok, this one might be a reproduction, but this is exactly what it would look like.

Xcaret. They had a sea turtle "farm" at Xcaret. They had tiny little sea turtles from the size of a golf ball up to 3 feet (1 meter) long sea turtles like the one you can almost see behind Miko.

Xcaret. Beautiful! Simply beautiful! And the coast line looks good too.

Cancun. These swans were made entirely out of bathroom towels!

Cancun

Xel-ha. There were Iguanas everywhere! And they were all of a pretty healthy size like this one right here, which is getting more attention than our tourguide.

Xel-ha. Xel-ha is an underground river outlet to the ocean and is a haven for fish. And as the pictures show it is also very beautiful. The place, which is now a large "aquatic park" is perfect for snorkeling and is 9 feet (3 meters) deep almost everywhere.

Xel-ha. They were feeding the fish in one area and that attracted some of the larger species like tuna. There were lots and lots of tuna fish there and they were all pretty "healthly". Most of them were about 3-4 feet long.

Xel-ha. Some of the bigger fish. Not the biggest ones though. The biggest fish were a bit camera shy.

Xel-ha. Bent proudly dressed in his national colors: Red and white!

Xel-ha. Fish eye view? This must be the "fish" equivalent of the bird's eye view.

Tulum. We're now at the ruins of Tulum. Tulum was a religous center of the Mayan empire.

Tulum.

Tulum.

Bonus!. For those of your who made it all the way through these pics this is your prize. We laughed long and hard about this one :-)
