Dedicated to my husband, Greg "Jody" Holsopple, of 33 years
this past March 18, 2001.

This is only one of the many poems that I have written to you, Jody, before and after your death. You always said that I should publish them. But this one... I gave to Michele to put on your web site in memory of you. One day I will read them all to you, along with my journal that I've been writing in since the day you got sick, January 28, 2001, Superbowl Sunday. There is so much sorrow, tears, and pain. I know you feel them all. We'll miss your great sense of humor! For you were the best husband, father, grandfather and friend! We love you so deeply! You'd be so proud of all your children! Your life will go on in all of us now!

Love,
Lynda

Lie Still My Heart

Lie still my heart for now you sleep,
Those tears for you will surely weep.

A soft word spoken to you that night,
With angels wings hovering you light.

That last gentle smile upon your face,
As I pray to God for Amazing Grace.

With your words so silent and so true,
Remembering the last kiss that you blew.

So quickly now you've slipped away,
With folded hands I began to pray.

Dear heavenly Father he's ready for you,
He'll follow you now as you've asked him to.

Your work on earth is surely done,
But will go on in the garden full bloomed from the sun.

There'll be no more sorrow, tears or pain,
Just a stroll in the sunlight as soft gentle rain.

You'll look down upon your family and I,
And we'll say to you we've stopped asking why?

Only to know that you've done something so right,
For God to have chosen you that special night.

And now I will wait for that chosen day,
That I too will have angels wings to fly away.

So lie still my heart as we walk hand in hand,
Like our special poem, Footprints in the Sand.

Again my love sleep tight.
For we know God's plan was truly right.

My prayer for you on Day 50!
