Lots of folks showed up, including Sam with May, Jim, Scott, Jamie, and the faithful Dan and Annie. We tried to play a game of Power Grid, but Karla, Annie, and Sam, in various levels of distraction from baby May, kept the game from flowing, plus Jamie showed up and we were only 3 rounds in.
Poor Sam was harrassed constantly by a (joking!) Jamie, "When Sam goes, we can play the good games!"

Notes: Rose Doolan led her gang of rootin' tootin' sharpshooters into Liberty, Nebraska, and started some trouble, but not 'afore Sheriff Willy filled Lucky Duke and Jourdannais full of lead. Jourdannais retaliated in animosity, plugging poor Willy in the thigh.
His glee din't last long, though, as Black Jack quickly revealed what side he was on by pistol cockin' ol' Frenchy and takin' his Winchester. A few bullets whistlin' by sure let on what tune Black Jack was playin' to as well.
Then Rose Doolan showed up, and damned if he didn't bring a tribe of Injuns with 'er! Bart Cassidy, Black Jack, and El Gringo fought 'em off, but poor Frenchy took an arrow to the ribs, Lucky Duke took one in the shoulder, and Sheriff Willy was plugged twice, right in the back. El Gringo tried to stem the tide of Outlaw destruction, but only managed to piss Bart Cassidy off.
Damned if'n Bart din't try to kill off that damned Sheriff Willy, but the Kid was sittin' on a beer just in case. With his dyin' gasp, he sucked that puppy down and was up and kickin' again. Lucky Duke done threw Bart in prison for his antics, and the Sheriff gave the side o' good a gleam o' hope by blastin' Jourdannais from here to kingdom come.
Then, Deputy Jack took aim for Rose Doolan, but she was stocked full of goodies and wouldn't go down. Bart Cassidy took a couple shots from him, as the deputies took target practice on 'im right in the prison cell! Bart had the last laugh, though, as Rose Doolan set up her Gatling gun right on main straight and shot all four of the possible lawman. This time, Willy din't have no beer, and he's still lyin' there, to this day, in the dusty red dirt of Libery, Nebraska.
As for Lucky Duke, he fled town, hopin' to cause some trouble somewhere in Colerado. El Gringo and Black Jack threw down their badges and went back east. As for Rose and Bart, they buried ol' Frenchy in a grave marked with a "J" and headed down to the inn.
"Le's have oursel'es some WHISKEY!" yelled Bart.
Rose jus' watched him drink himself silly and sipped on a saspariller.

Notes: This is actually the 2nd time I'm writing this, as I accidentally deleted the old file. So, I'm going to skimp on the details a bit, due in part to memory and the fact that I've spent too much time on this as it is...
We played with Tax collector instead of Thief, and the collector was frequently killed by the Assassin. This cost me a nice scoring round, and kept me in a bad spot. I didn't do well because I was hardly getting any cash and I only had expensive cards. Karla went for her Win Quickly and Get the Plus Four strategy. She built 6 (we only played up to 6, though the rules say 7 - I didn't want the game to take too long) before anyone else, though Jim managed it, too.
Scott did well, as he used my strategy but had more money, so he managed more points. Dan, Annie, and Jamie would have done better but they kept getting killed. Jim did very nicely, and would have won, as he was all set to play a red district card from his hand on the last turn, which would have given him 3 more points in addition to the 2 he got for finishing, but Jamie played the magician and swapped his 2 cards for Jim's 6. Jim was totally hosed.
The other thing that was odd was that everyone kept letting Karla get the Merchant, and as she had 3 green districts almost immediately, she was getting cash hand over fist, especially when people were wasting their assassination attempts on the tax collector and the architect. This gave Karla 3 or 4 really productive turns, and helped her win the game. Basically, everyone was stopped on their way through the game except Karla, and she held on for victory.
