Record-breaking attendance as we switched back to Wednesdays. Scott, Karla, and Donella played Coloretto while the rest of us played the bean game, then, when some folks left, we played Ra. Tonight was a glorious night for Scott.

Notes: Sam immediately suggested this one, and so we played it. These 6+ player games of this are always close. Everyone but Annie and Lee bought the 3rd bean field, though I bought mine really late, when I couldn't get good deal for two chili beans. I also was the beneficiary of a massive "donation attack", when at least 3 people had cards they didn't want and just gave them to me, since I was the only taker (it was mostly wax and blue bean cards).

Dan won on the card tiebreaker.

Notes: While the rest of us played Bohnanza, Scott, Karla, and Donella played 2 rounds of Coloretto. Scott won, as seems to be his thing. I've only played 5 player games of this, and I'll be damned if I ever average 37.5 points per round.

Notes: Man, I've got to learn how to play this. I quit early in Round 2 in order to get a bunch of points in floods, and there was only one Ra marker to go to end the round. I also took a two-pharaoh hit, leaving me in last place. What happened? Dan got the best set of markers I'd ever seen, and I finished miserably.

Some other notes: I had almost no monuments (I had one at the end of the game), while everyone else had at least 7 different types, and Karla and Dan each had one three of a kind. Annie and I collected rivers, and Scott won the most pharaohs group round after round. As a perfect symbol of how crappy my game went (and adding insult to insult), I finished with 32 points in sun markers. Scott had 33 points. I wouldn't be so distraught, but I've been getting these miserable, non-competitive results for the last 20 or so games of this.

I should add that Scott had a pretty good grip on the scoring thanks to the colorful scoring mats that I had printed up.
