Tonight was Jamie's Birthday Party (TM) and he ordered me to bring Talisman and a few other games. Like most raucous parties, though, we only got to play a couple, not very strategic games. We only played two (though after I left they played Liar's Dice a few times).

Notes: I had tried to get a game of this going a couple times before, but either there were too few people to do it correctly, or no one listened to me as I gave the instructions. Therefore, Jamie and Dan were against playing it. When everyone discovered that we could play it with almost infinite people, they reluctantly consented.

It went really well. The werewolves were indomitable. They kept their composure, and the villagers kept flailing vainly at anyone and everyone. Jason was killed the first night, as he foolishly said "I didn't look at my card!" On the first kill, all the werewolves need is an excuse, so they killed him. Jani, I must admit, was not a very vocal Fortune Teller, as she first saw Lee's card, and knew he wasn't a werewolf, but did a very poor job standing up for him when the votes were tallied.

After Dan was murdered, the townsfolk once again killed another innocent victim, then they were quickly whittled away by the werewolves. Jamie was the sheriff, and he had no idea what he was doing - and after one bout of extensive complaining he was devoured.

The werewolves, I thought, were aided by their personality traits - they were all very quiet. Sam, Dan, Mark, Jamie, and Lee are all very vocal people, but Scott, Jill, and Karyn are all quiet. They were surely too nice of people to be werewolves! Sam, in fact, couldn't believe his wife was one of the werewolves. Jill played a very good job, saying things like, "Yeah, I think Sam is a werewolf" or deflecting attention from Scott or Karyn when they were accused.

After the game, Dan admitted that the game was fun even though he was killed right away, because it was hilarious to watch the townspeople make mistake after mistake.

Notes: Two Teams, the Mansons and the Berkowitzes. Mike the moderator again. The Mansons were Karla, Dan, Betsy, Jason, Megan, Scott, Jamie. The Berkowitzes: Karyn, Mark, Lee, Sam, Jill, Howard, and Jani.

As always, there were outdated questions: "What convenience at home would you like to have in your car?" With answers being TV, Telephone(!), Stereo (!), Bathroom, and Refrigerator. There was also a bit of controversy when, in answer to the question, "Name something that can be lime-flavored," Lee said, "Snacks or Chips" and I accepted that answer as "Candy." Jamie and Karla freaked, but I knew that they were going to get the steal anyway, which they did (The top answer was Jell-O, and Team Berkowitz was NOT getting it).

Mark and Lee did the final round for Team Berkowitz and only amassed 128 points. An example of how poorly they did can be shown by how they answered "Name a sport that you play with at a family gathering." Mark said Croquet (not a bad answer, really) and Lee said Tennis. The top answers were Volleyball, Baseball, and Basketball - GROUP games.
