Game Night was almost a no-go tonight, but eventually Dan made it over at 7:10 or so.

Notes: This was a close game for the first two-thirds. I had initiative, and kept rolling 1's and 2's on the climate meter, which made for an odd game. Dan kept hindering Karla and me with card play, but he didn't really have a devoted strategy. Karla just kept accumulating useful genes which really helped her by the end. I had a huge horn advantage, but when Karla saw I was going to attack her one turn (which would have resulted in her losing one dino and at least one birth, and giving me an extra 2 dinos), she played the Truce card on me. This was a borderline cheat move, as you're supposed to play the card BEFORE anyone moves, but I let it slide...to my immense disadvantage, as Karla acquired a horn to tie me that evolution phase, and she was routinely surviving 8 or 9 dinos per turn to Dan's and my own 6 or 7. Her slim lead became unassailable. I was kind of grumpy about getting the shaft, but it's time to move on now.

Notes: Our second game, and second time with two players. After all the island exploration was done, I was ahead by one point. I originally had a huge lead, but Dan made two really nice plays to cut my lead down to almost nothing. Unfortunately for him, though, I had a nice advantage on the jungle paths (which I was carefully calculating from about mid-game onward) and ended up with the victory.
