While fans may miss the nostalgic value of the grassy bank, it�s rewarding to see excavation for the Football Center, and permanent end zone seating. Many recruits were on hand for the spring game, and the construction progress was impressive to fans and prospective players alike. |

|
One feature of the new building, and the first to be completed, is the tunnel leading from the building onto the field. As shown on the architect�s plans, a stairwell and elevator will form a shaft down from the ground floor. The vertical shaft will transition into a horizontal tunnel below the stands, that will open out onto the field. |

The photo shows excavation for the vertical shaft and horizontal tunnel. After the tunnel structure is in place, the permanent stands should be constructed across the entire hill. Rapid progress is needed for August completion. |
