My trading information and preferences in one place.
Well, here it is, all you need to trade tapes with me.
ANALOG TRADERS!: Sorry, but I have no analog blanks, and don't intend to buy more for a while. What this means is that I CAN NOT and DO NOT trade analog. I now prefer CD for trading.
The majority of my live show collection is currently Phish shows. Some bands I would *love* to get some more live shows of include: Medeski, Martin, and Wood, Bad Hat, Ozric Tentacles, Jimi Hendrix, and Orb. In general, though, I like all kinds of music, and would love to trade for bands I may not have even heard of. Just let me know what kind of music they play!
My equipment currently consists of:
Decks: a Nomad Jukebox 3 (digital), and a
Plextor PX-708A (DVD/CD).
Mic setup: AKG C480B+CK63's > Mic2496
Cables: both way too many and not enough, including XLR Monster
Cables
For CDs, I mark the beginning of each song, starting tracks with index 00 after the previous song, and do only DAO (2 second gaps are jarring!).
I am also a born-again tape matcher. Matching the same number of tapes of equal length in a trade means that each side simply spins the tapes for the other trader, then sends them off. This cuts the postage and the amount of time for the trade to be completed in half, also reducing the probability of the tapes lost in the mail, etc., etc... it's just the way things should be done! :-)
I have outlined the overall trading process in a quick-n-easy list below!
2. If you notice any exceptional
shows you have that I don't, be sure to make a note of
them!
3. Send me some
mail (with a subject line including 'Tape Trade'!). Include a list of the shows of mine that you
are interested in, and any suggestions you may have from
your list. Also, include the URL to your tape list (or
include a copy, if absolutely necessary).
4. Hang on for my response! Sometimes it may take
me a while to get back to you, but I try to check mail
regularly.
