PUMPKIN PATCH BLUES
by: Mike Skellenger
I got them old pumpkin patch
blues again...
Halloween's over
and there's snow on the ground
can't wait 'til late summer
and fall comes around...
The vines are all withered
and the pumpkins are mush
and now no-one visits,
it's just quiet - husssssh...
There was so much excitement
when everyone came
to hunt out their pumpkin -
it was such a grand game...
Kids laughing and squealing
while others hid grins
thinking of candy
and their holiday sins...
Everyone found their pumpkin
and an All-Hallows fright
but now the field's empty
and it's such a cold night...
Well pumpkins are orange
but I'm feeling blue
the patch is now empty
and thinking of you...
Wil you remember
to come back next year?
Masked and in costume,
creating such fear...
I sure hope you'll remember -
just follow your feet
there's pumpkin seeds waiting
for your next trick-or-treat...
It's just so damn cold out
and I'm turning blue
Remember this pumpkin
is thinking of you...
Hope you had a
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
