MIKE'S PYGMY OSPREY STANDARD
Mike lives across the street from me and while I work dilligently in my tented garage on my hard chined Chesapeake 16 from plans, he is putting his multi-chined Pygmy Osprey kit together. We both got started over the Christmas holiday and are both determined to take our time and get it right. So far Mike has glued all of the pieces for the hull and deck together and will soon start to stitch. Well things are moving along for Mike. It is January 31 and he has four of the hull panels stitched together. Tomorrow he is hoping to get the rest of the hull panels in place. Mike was true to his word. Here is a picture of the hull stitched together, held in place with the temporary stations. Well, it is already February 18, where did the weeks go. Mike is working away and now is up to the point where his hull is tabbed together and he has removed the wires. Here's a picture of when the wires were still in. He is currently filling the seams with epoxy in preparation for 'glassing the exterior. Its now March 2nd. Mike had put the first coat of epoxy on his hull. The wood looks great as Pygmy did a nice job of matching the grain. Check it out!

Mike is making great progress. He got the hull epoxied and now has the deck built. In the picture the deck is taped on while the seams are tabbed. Then he will take it off and tab the inside before removing the wires. Have a look. It's sweet! One more coat to go on the eck. It is permenantly fixed to the hull and Mike just has to put one more coat of epoxy on and he will be rready to start on the coaming and hatches. See it here.
