Feed Canned Food in the morning and in the evening. No real set time. Use the provided paper plates to feed them the canned food, dividing a can in ½ for each.
Keep the dry food bowl about ½ full in each compartment.
Note: Dry food isn’t actually good for cats because they cannot process carbohydrates. They need what their vet refers to as the “Catkin’s Diet”. I try to feed them as little dry food as possible and rely on the wet food.
Note that when you feed them their canned food, you must pick up Mr. Binklesworth and place his head over the plate for him to be able to smell it.
Please feed them only two treats a day. Burbank will be able to find them on the floor, but you must hold them in the palm of your hand to Binky’s nose for him to find them.
If possible, please make sure the floor stays somewhat clean. Binky will swallow almost anything that will fit in his mouth, and a few things that can’t.
Water - Change often (every few days), and continually add water on other days. You must, at least once a week, disassemble the electric water bowl to remove the debris (mostly cat hair) from the pump. If it’s too clogged up and cannot pump, it can burn out the motor. Also, the individual parts need to be rinsed – they collect a lot of cat food and dirt.
Please also change the charcoal filter around November 1st, and again around the end of December.
The Litter Box
Please filter all poop once a day or every other day. Scoop the poop in a garbage bag. Also, stir the litter so that it may dry in order for it to remain useable for a week.
Please empty the litter box once a week, using the diagram below:
When you empty the litter box, please also vacuum around it. It gets really messy around the litter box.
Note that Burbank Spiffers cannot “Think” inside the box. He only poops outside – he doesn’t pee outside, which would certainly be much worse. He doesn’t seem to be able to help it.
Playing with My Widdle Kitties
Everyone is invited to come and play with them as often as possible. They will need some serious companionship.
Do not let them outside!!!
Use some of their toys scattered about.
See if you can get Burbank to chase you!
Pet them lots. Also, when you can/feel like it, please use the yellow brush to brush them. That’ll cut down on the amount of hair that they swallow, which is a bad thing.
If you see Burbank laying on the edge of the bathroom sink, turn on the faucet a bit. He likes to drink from it, for some strange reason. If Binky jumps up to join him, he may also like to drink the water, but realize that he may rather curl up and sleep in the sink, in which case, please turn off the water to make his nap more comfy. Yes, he will actually try to sleep in the sink when the faucet is on.
Please give my widdle kitties as much attention and care as possible. They are my two bestest pals, and it will help to ease the pain of separation to know that they will be well cared for.
Thanks!!!
