Announcements

***Thursday, May 18, 2006***
Sorry for the huge delay in getting the latest updates onto the website.  I have been very busy attending my local Community Board meetings trying to find out who's going to do something about the problems we're having with all these bats. (Unfortunately, we haven't had much luck...)
Anyway, there are some new family photos added, link at the top.
Also, new photos from a Yankee game, a Rangers game, Steve's bar, Jess's visit to NY and of course, Reilly's 30th birthday party, all those links added on the bottom.

***Wednesday, March 22, 2006***
Hope everyone had a great St. Patrick's Day.  There are some updates that we added this week, hopefully you enjoy them.  Be sure to keep an eye out for the new videos that were added.
Let us know what you think and if they're well received, maybe we'll add some more.  Only a few days until baseball season, let's hope the Yankees find enough pitchers to field a major-league staff this season.  Go Expos!!!

I also want to once again thank everyone who made a donation on my St. Baldrick's Day page.  We were able to raise $2,870 so far for the fight against childhood cancers.  I am extremely grateful for the generosity of all my friends and family.  Thanks again!

***Wednesday, March 1, 2006***
Happy St. Patrick's Day!
The holy season is upon us and there will be much celebrating in the coming weeks.  Staten Island's parade is on Sunday, March 5 and hopefully we will see all our readers there! More details to follow.

Additionally, there will be a special St. Baldrick's Day celebration on Tuesday, March 14, 2006 at MJ Armstrong's where you can go to watch Mike Ryan get his head shaved to raise money for the fight against children's cancer.  If you are interested in donating, please do so, this is a very worthy cause and every donation helps make a difference.
REMEMBER: Whoever makes the largest donation will get to grab the clippers and take the first swipe at Mike Ryan's giant dome!

***Wednesday, February 15, 2006***
There are more photos posted today, including ones from this past weekend.  It was great to see Gina and wish her a happy birthday in person. We also went to see Jim Roberti Trio on Saturday and they were great.
More photos coming soon, along with some assorted videos of our dodgeball team as well as some cool snow movies.

***Friday, February 3, 2006***
The photos are finally posted from the last couple of months and they're totally worth the wait.

***Thursday, January 27, 2006***
There are several new links on the best links page for your enjoyment, as well as a new random celebrity website. Next weekend is the meeting of the families in Hammonton.  Details, as well as photos to follow soon.

***Thursday, December 29, 2005***
Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas.  Here's a picture of me on Christmas morning opening up a new server that Santa got me for The Site.  I am really psyched about it!
I am looking forward to a great New Year's party at Chez Reilly and I hope to see you all there.
There have been some announcements since my last update, and without further ado, here they are:
1. Jen and Stephen got engaged on Christmas, so congratulations and all the best to our favorite Angelenos.
2. Rosie's friends Tom and Rosemary got engaged a couple weeks before Christmas and we got a chance to congratulate the two of them in person when we all got together a few days later.
3. Rosie and I got engaged on Sunday, December 4th.
That's right: EVERYONE IS NOW ENGAGED!  I feel glad now that it is on The Site, it finally makes it all seem truly official.

New photos coming soon...
ALSO, a new website is coming soon as well.  Keep your eyes peeled for it...

***Thursday, November 24, 2005***
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!  We've got some great new photos on the site from Marathon Day and from my cousin Kristen's wedding.  We will also soon be posting photos of the newest addition to the family, little Oliver Maxwell was born to my sister Tricia and her husband Benjy.  Congratulations to them as well as Harry and Christopher.

***Thursday, November 3, 2005***
We here at The Site just realized that we never posted the awesome pictures of our trip to Saratoga.  They can be seen here and here.
You will also be happy with the new "Best Links" we've posted.  Some of the best we've seen in a while.
Also, we got some other photos up from recent events.  These pictures are filled with sex and violence, especially the ones with Rosie's co-workers. Enjoy!

***Thursday, September 29, 2005***
An absolutely great show by Electric Six on Monday at Maxwell's in Hoboken.  We will be seeing them again on Friday night, Sep. 30th at The Bowery Ballroom.  DO NOT MISS IT!  Also, Friday night is Erin's Birthday party at Central Bar on 9th Street near 4th Avenue. DO NOT MISS THAT EITHER! (We here at the site will being doing both: first Erin's, then the show, then back to Erin's.)
In other news, I went to my first NASCAR race this weekend and I am now officially a rednecked, racecar-loving good-ole-boy. The race was in Dover, DE (the capital of Delaware!) and it was won by my absolute favorite driver in the world, #48 Jimmy Johnson.
I learned several things at the race, like  1.Mark Martin is old and uses Viagra.  2.Jeff Gordon is a homo.  3.Confederate Flag accessories are IN!  4.One can never smoke too many cigarettes.  5.NASCAR fans are smarter, more involved and drink less beer than football fans.  6.They still love Dale Earnhardt.
And finally, as you all know already, last Friday was the last day for everyone's favorite boss Margaret.  There was a big bash at The Pig & Whistle thrown by Rosie and Christina.  Yours truly won the $20 award for being the first to make Margaret cry, but I must admit, I did sort of cheat by twisting her arm behind her back to do so. Pictures will be posted soon.
Next week we are going to be in Southern Cal for meetings with the West Coast staff of The Site. We need to take care of some admin stuff as well as figure out what direction we want to take with Jen's Corner. Look for updates with photos when we return!

***Friday, September 23, 2005***
Not too many updates this month, it's been pretty hectic at work and otherwise. Travers weekend was great up until the point when we realized how serious Hurricane Katrina was going to be. My sister Kate and her friend Deirdre were vacationing in New Orleans and weathered the storm at the Sheraton on Canal Street. They got through it without a scratch and after three days of heat, humidity and hunger, the people at the Sheraton were able to get them and all the guests onto buses and over to Dallas where they stayed for 24 hours before flying home to NYC.
Meanwhile, the people of New Orleans will need all the help they can get to rebuild. Donations to Habitat for Humanity will help people in the Gulf Coast rebuild their homes and their neighborhoods.

 ***Friday, August 25, 2005***
Last weekend Rosie became Bocce Ball Queen of Brooklyn.  Great pub crawl, thanks again to Erin for organizing it and to Paul for providing the comedy.
This weekend we're off to the Travers Stakes in Saratoga, NY. It should be a blast. I am going to win big again this year with my tried and true method of picking the horse that looks the least tired and betting heavily on it.
A few new links. Also, Jen's Corner has a new update and there's a new celebrity website.

***Friday, August 12, 2005***
Last weekend was a blast at the family bash.  Thanks again to Billy and Joanne for their hospitality.  Another uneventful week here at The Site.  We got stuck working overnights so we should have some energy for the after-hours partying down in Sea Isle City this weekend.  Everyone who is going, I'll see you there.  For everyone else, enjoy the city you suckas.

***Friday, August 5, 2005***
We are going to a family party tomorrow which should be a blast.  It will not be nearly as much fun as last weekend when we played some high-stakes Trivial Pursuit followed by Drinking Jenga.  In Trivial Pursuit action, Team West Brighton played well but was ultimately beaten by Team Reba for 3rd Place.  Congrats to Team Reba, your bronze medals are in the mail!
Also, did anyone else see The Aristocrats yet?  Saget proves once again that he is God.

***Tuesday, July 26, 2005***
We have been quite busy lately, apologies for the lack of updates.  There are 3 new sets of pictures that have been put up on The Site today and I must say that they are all really awesome.
Thanks again to everyone who came to the surprise birthday party, it was a great time.  Thanks especially to Rosie, Reilly, Maureen, Margaret, Tricia and everyone else who conspired behind my back to pull it off.  The pictures have been posted for your enjoyment.
Also, Happy Birthday to Rosie! (it was July 25th)
I also want everyone to check out how this kid rolls.

 ***Wednesday, July 06, 2005***
We here at The Site hope everyone had a great 4th of July weekend and that all the Jersey Shore and NYC parties were a blast.  We spent the weekend out at the Wood Compound in the Hamptons and a great time was had by all.  We did some fishing for striped bass early Saturday and Amanda caught the largest of the day at about 25 lbs.  Rosie and I played some tennis and lost to Hark Daddy and Christine 6-1, 3-6, 6-3  and 6-2, 2-6, 3-1 (2nd match forfeited due to "we don't want to play anymore."  The Saturday wiffle ball game was won by the Fair-Steele-Ryan squad, with Fair getting the win and yours truly getting the save.  Screwballer Hark Daddy had 9 Ks in a losing effort.  Woody finished with a pair of triple-doubles in teaming with Ignall to split two basketball games against me and Fair.  Finally, the winner of the chicken parm contest was Reilly with 4.7 lbs consumed.
Thanks once again to our hosts Joe and Terry for the amazing weekend, we always really enjoy your company and your hospitality.  I am sure you will be fielding requests for the recipes of just about every dish that was had this weekend, everything was tremendous
Hope to see everyone again soon.

***Thursday, June 23, 2005***
Thank GOD they're finally going to lock up that guy from those Six Flags commercials.  He was starting to get on my nerves...
BTW: Wouldn't you think that they would perform a background check on Mr. Six before letting him be their 'brand character?'

We got some updates today and we hope like hell that you enjoy them.

***Wednesday, June 22, 2005***
Sorry there haven't been too many updates lately.  We here at The Site have really had our hands full ever since the twins were born.
I have finally posted most of the pics from the "Danger Golf" outing a couple weeks ago.  We hope to have more photos and footage as it become available.
Pics from the Cotto-Abdulaev fight and the Montreal trip are coming before the end of the week.

***Friday, June 10, 2005***
We had a good time at Metro 53 last night.  It was nice to see Pete, Luke and Co. and to get that one Yuengling from Josh before his shift ended.  Donovan naturally showed up late, drunk and furious, all par for the course.  This weekend is Puerto Rican Day and we here at The Site will be celebrating by attending the Cotto - Abdulaev fight at the Garden.
Hope everyone has a blast at the parade on Sunday, we'll see you there!

***Monday, June 6, 2005***
Please join us as our friend Josh bartends at Metro 53 this Thursday for Happy Hour.  The bar is located on 53rd Street off 2nd Ave and as I can tell you from experience: They will not let you in if you wear sneakers.  Consider yourself warned that they really hate sneakers.  So if you can locate a pair of shoes, come down at 6pm to see Josh at the back bar.

***Friday, June 3, 2005***
We have some pretty good updates today, hope you like them.  Went to Croxley Ales last night and had beer.  Then went to Vasmay Lounge and had more beer.
It was the 2nd consecutive day for me at a Croxley Ales, having visited the one in Rockville Centre on Wednesday.  The one in the East Village is just as nice, so I wonder why it has such a horseshit website...

***Tuesday, May 31, 2005***
We have changed around the site.  We really, really hope you like it.
BIG NEWS: Courtnay and Dan got engaged.  Congratulations and best wishes to the two of them.

***BREAKING NEWS***
THIS JUST IN:  Mike's Ryan's Awesome Website received an exclusive report at 2:20pm EDT today that Sakacs has passed the NJ bar on his 1st attempt.  More news as it becomes available. **UPDATE, May 16, 2005** -  Sakacs has also passed the NY Bar Exam.  This means that he is now a gangsta-ass lawyer.
Did you know that other famous lawyers include Star Jones, Howard Cosell, Henri Matisse, John Cleese, Col. Harlan Sanders, Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky,  Mel Allen, Julio Iglesias, Nicolas Copernicus, Tony LaRussa, Geraldo Rivera and John Grisham?  If you visit this website you know.
Congrats to Sakacs.  A night out for celebratory drinks will be announced shortly.

***Monday, May 9, 2005***
Fun weekend.  Life is good.
Decided not to go out Friday because we had weddings on both Saturday and Sunday and yet somehow ended up drinking with co-workers and the Hark Daddy for about 7 hours.
Saturday went to see Ashes and Snow with Karen and the kids.  It was great.  I highly recommend it.
Afterwards we went to Phil and Tara's wedding and had a great time.  Congratulations again to the two of them.
Sunday we got in about 8 hours sleep before heading to Zum Schneider to gear up for the trip to Brooklyn for Keith and Roseanne's wedding.  Congratulations to the two of them as well.
When we arrived at home past midnight last night, we barely had enough energy to watch Family Guy and change for bed.
I cannot wait to do it again next weekend...

***Friday, May 6, 2005***
It finally happened: Joe Torre was fired by the Yankees today.  This has been a long time coming.  All those victories the Yanks enjoyed over the years were because of him and him alone.  Therefore the Yankees' 11-18 start is his fault and they had to let him go.  No word yet on who his replacement will be, but I'm leaning towards Rusty Kuntz.
Also: Last night we hit the Rodeo Bar for Cinco de Mayo.  Jackie B was as drunk as I've ever seen a person not named Reilly and she only had 3 of their margaritas.  If she made it to work today, we here at The Site send her a hearty "Bra-VA"  on getting there...  It must've been tough.
Also: Phil's getting married on Saturday and so is Tara.  Keith is getting married on Sunday in Crooklyn.  Should be a nice relaxing weekend.

***Check out the updates to Jen's Corner, Mike's Favorite Links and the Other Mike Ryans page.

***Monday, May 2, 2005***
We need to get a plan formulated for Cinco de Mayo, which is on Thursday, 05/05/05.  See the message board
Also,  In case you don't know the story behind this holiday, here it is:
In 1862, after receiving word that French forces were marching on Mexico City, President Benito Juarez sent troops to head them off. It was on May 5th, in the little town of Puebla, that a small, untrained, and under-equipped army led by General Ignacio Zaragoza met and defeated the invading French, a well-armed army led by Napoleon III. Cinco de Mayo is significant to Americans because it marks the last time that any foreign power has acted the aggressor on North American soil and also because you get to drink about a thousand Coronas.

***Wednesday, April 27, 2005***
Got back from Jazzfest in New Orleans
on Sunday.  Had a blast.  Lucky to have had one last meal at Uglesich's, the greatest restaurant on the planet.  Saw dozens of bands at the fairgrounds and a few more around town.  Best bands there were Cowboy Mouth and The RootsRebirth Brass Band absolutely tore it up at Rock n' Bowl
Fishbone sucked; I cannot stress this enough: They were horrible.
Donovan should be glad he did not make it to the Big Easy; I think he woulda shit his self if he had heard Sonny Landreth play guitar.

***MS WALK APRIL 17, 2005***
Once again we had a great time yesterday doing the MS Walk.  Everyone's generous donations were greatly appreciated.  Photos have been posted.  You can still donate at the link below if you wish.  Thanks again to everyone for your support!!!

***Saturday, April 16, 2005***
We had a great time at Brewtopia this past Saturday night.  Photos are posted on the left.

***Friday, April 15, 2005***
Woody and Amanda got engaged last night (to each other) and congratulations are in order.  Way to go, Woody.  Photos from the celebration have been posted on the left.
Also, we added a message board  to the site.  Enjoy, Courtnay!
