Dear Diary,
Today I sort of quit my job at Rite Aid. I don't know how official it is, I still have to talk to the human resource manager to see what the deal is. I wrote everything down that happened so I can show the HRM...And this is how it all went down...

Thursday August 18, 2005

Today after Ron and I got done unloading the truck Adrian wanted to take a break. So while she took her break I stood up front to ring. I was ringing on Rons register and after I was done ringing up the first customer I had no 5s left. At this point there were about 3 more people waiting in line to be rung up, so I took the next customer down to Adrians register. After ringing up the next customer I had one 5 left in her drawer so I called Dayna and told her to bring 5s for both registers because there was one left. So when I got done with the next customer I had zero 5s left and right then is when Dayna got to the front with the 5s. There were 3 customers left in line at this point...Dayna took one customer and I told the next one I would ring her up at Adrians register, Dayna then told me that I shouldnt have rang on Adrians register and told me not to ring up the next customer and to wait until she was done with her customer so I could ring on that drawer. I told her if I hadnt have rang on Adrians register there would have been 5 customers waiting in line. We started arguing in front of the customers and then when she got done with her customer she walked away. I rang up the next customer who would have been the next person I would have rung up on Adrians register and she was not happy whatsoever. Later on Ron came up and told me Dayna wanted to talk to me in the office. So I went into the office and closed the door. She asked what my problem was today and I asked the same question right back...I told her she came into work with a chip on her shoulder and she responded with no I didnt, I even asked whats going on to you. I told her that the logical thing to do in that situation would be to ring up the customers instead of making them wait around for her to bring up change and then she told me that I should call for change ahead of time, and she said this knowing that I just started ringing people up which would make me have no idea there werent enough 5s in either register. This is when I made the wrong choice by saying are you f***ing kidding me? She then told me to leave for the day and to come back when I was ready or come back when I would be respectful or something like that, I dont really remember her exact words. So after she said that, I made another bad decision by taking off my smock and throwing it on the top shelf in the office. I then walked out of the store saying bye to Ron and Adrian. The next day, which I had off, I called Dayna on my cell phone to apologize for my actions. While I was calling her she was calling my house phone. My mom picked up the phone and Dayna asked if I was home. My mom thought I had left so she said I wasnt home. Dayna then mentioned to her about me being suspended for the next 7 days and told my mom to tell me to call her back before 5 PM because she was leaving for the trade show. My mom asked what happened and Dayna said she wasnt supposed to go into detail but then told my mom that I had swore at her. I was waiting on hold while they were on the phone, so right after the conversation ended Dayna picked up and I apologized to her, when I was done apologizing she told me I would be suspended for the next 7 days and to come back Thursday to discuss things. Now my main complaint here is that she told my mom before she told me. I am an adult and should be informed of this first before anyone else. I feel as if she violated my privacy. Incidents like this should be confidential and should not be discussed with members of my family who have nothing to do with it. A little more than a week later on August 28th I asked Dayna how it went from her telling me to take the day off to me being suspended for seven days. She said that what I did was a policy violation and that she had discussed it with Marty.
