A little about me
I am
75 and retired. While I am a Philosopher and not a Mathematician, I do have a
fair knowledge of the subject.

When I
started trying to square the circle, I had not heard of Von Linderman and that
pi is a transcendental number. If I had then I am sure that I would probably
not have tried. I have to accept that pi cannot be constructed using only a
compass and straight edge, yet by using a grid and a triangle and extending the
hypotenuse does construct a square with an area equal to that of the circle.
Not being able to submit the solution for verification is frustrating.
