This
is an
example
of
a Random
Colorized
HTML
text
block
generated
by
COLORIZE.
This
Freeware
package
takes
each
letter
and
"assigns"
a random
color
based
on
an
internally
generated
list.
This
list
can
easily
be
modified
to
suit
your
needs. If you program in HTML then you know how long it would take to produce the above text block, by highlighting then selecting a color for each individual letter. With COLORIZE it took less than a second to take the example text and add the necessary code. For an even crazier effect, there's an option to do the below: tHeRe
iS
A
SwItCh
iN
CoLoRiZe
tO
GeNeRaTe
tHiS
TyPe
oF
NiFtY
TeXt

How it Works: 1) Write your text with any ASCII editor such as Notepad (or better yet, use METAPAD, a far better editor. METAPAD can be found in FreeWare) 2) Run COLORIZE. Follow the instructions. It will generate an HTML file, COLOR.HTM that can be opened in any Web Authoring software or browser. That's it! It's easy to customize the colors: When you first run COLORIZE it will generate an ASCII text file CODES.TXT that contain around 25 HTML Hex colors. You can edit this list with any ASCII editor such as Notepad (or METAPAD, found in FreeWare) You can change, add or subtract hex codes. COLORIZE picks each code at random: so if, let's say, you want a particular color(s) to show up with greater frequency, simply include more instances of the same code in the list. Just make sure to follow the file format - one code per line - and no blank lines. Installing & Running COLORIZE: Non Beginners: put the file into any folder (subdirectory) & create a shortcut. It can be run in Windows with no problem. Beginners: 4) COLORIZE will run either in full DOS mode (also called Full Screen Mode) or within a "window" If you run it within a window you have the option of changing the screen Font. Windows will most likely auto select it to run within a window. If that's acceptable, just check to see that the program "closes on exit" (see below for instructions) To change the window options: 1)Right Click on the COLORIZE Icon. Select Properties. 2)Select PROGRAM. Click the Box that says "close on exit." At this time you can also use the drop down menu to select what size window you want. 3)Now select SCREEN. Check either FULL SCREEN or WINDOW, depending on how you want it to run. That's it. (It's good practice to get used to changing properties on DOS programs.)
