DOES IT NEED AN UPGRADE???
Over the last fifty years women in wrestling have been rather dismissed and just see as eye candy, which is a point for a lot of wrestling fans. It follows the old fashioned trend of men being the fighters and women being seen as the sex objects of the wrestling world.
Smackdown is a classic example of how WWFE portrays their divas. Bikini contests, lesbien segments and bitchy catfights. This type of angle goes back to the days of Sunny and Faboulous Moolah.
RAW on the other hand believes in showcasing the theory of 'women are just as tough as men' by having the RAW divas competing rather than just show off their assests and winking to the audiences (don't get me wrong they still can do that, which is the example of Trish and Stacey) but now RAW seems to be the perfect place for women to develop their wrestling skills and become known for something more than just WWFE eye candy. The only problem is right now Trish is the only female face of RAW it compete, which is why I think Gail Kim would be better as a face for RAW.
Victoria is a classic example for me because even though she is beautiful and sexual, she has devloped a character and stuck to that character and even created a solid feaud with Trish last year.
I do believe that the Smackdown divas, such as Torrie, Sable, Dawn Marie and Nidia, are good for performing their diva roles with sexuality and charisma, and maybe the odd gimmick match but right RAW is best for headlining female wrestling for something different.
* What was the point of hiring Nathan 'I have only one move' Jones? He has been appaling to watch on TV and even being pulled from the match at Wrestlemania didn't say much about his ablity. Well get this, it is said Nathan Jones has been sent back to OVW (Ohio Valley Wrestling) to work on his moves.
* New WWE recruits have just been brought in to give the wwe a fresh set of faces. Names like Jackie Gayda, Mark Jindrak, Gail Kim and Lance Cade will be intoroduced. From what I know Gail Kim will be portrayed as a Matrix style female competitor, who would be a great asset to RAW. Gayda will be Rico's valet and Jindrak is rumoured to be the new face of Evolution, to replace Batista who has injured himself...again!
* Communications with Sting have fallen flat. Sting has shown no commitment to wwe and judging from the state of Goldberg's arrival, I don't think its a good time to bring ANOTHER WCW ex-superstar.
* It is RUMOURED that Jamal has been fired from WWFE, the reason is yet unknown. I think its about time to get rid of the fat samoans, both him and Rosey. Their performances are poor, their skills are non to none and their timing is poor.
Please note that these are only rumours.
Now alot of people are down on Shawn Michaels because he's past his prime and is only on RAW just to save things for WWFE but have you ever heard of second wind?
Since Michaels has returned he has given us the best performances, both vocal, and physical to his feuds, from his fierece feud with Triple H to, now, developing a carismatic feud with Jericho.
I hope to see Michaels around for a little while more as he is definently setting a right tone for WWFE. The next best move for him would be to battle The Rock at Wrestlemania
After a failed gimmick as D-Von's deacon and a less than impressive run on Smackdown! Batista has moved to RAW and become a huge superstar. He had an impressive match with Kane at Armageddon and his battle with Scott Stiener on RAW was a true pleasure to watch.
Why he is hanging onto twisted and control freaks like Triple H and Ric Flair, I don't know. I know for a fact that this guy has it, stregth, agility and the look.
The sad thing is that Brock Lesnar is on Smackdown! as I would love to see these two huge men battle it out
A year ago Chris was sat at home recovering from a serious neck injury. After a slow and low impact on his return Benoit has proven, for a damn fact, that he is one of the greatest techincal superstars in WWFE. Normally he wouldn't make this column but his outstanding performance with Kurt Angle at Royal Rumble tipped it for me. I hope to see Benoit with the WWFE title by the end of the year
I am fully aware that he is a teammates with Shelton Benjamin but I truely believe that this is the one with true talent and his singles matches have outstanded me more than his regular tag team matches as a member of Team Angle.
I see this active young competitor with huge and successful future in the WWFE, and if the IC belt makes a return, I want to see it go straight to this man
