| In 1948, during Israel's war of independence, the city of Tzuba was taken by the 6th Regiment of the Har-El Palmach Brigade to open the southern corridor to Jerusalem. Tzuba was one of four fortified villages blocking access Jerusalem.
Today the site remains abandoned although there is a communal farming kibbutz, named Tzuba, located several hundred meters from the ancient site.
