| November 1st. We survived Halloween, no Terrorist Attacks as predicted by the scaremongers and the War drags on with no end in sight. Although it is reported everything is under sort of controll. Most Americans are back to their normal routines but some vowing not to fly still. Florida is waiting for the Snowbirds to come South after Thanks Giving, then a true picture will tell us if life has been affected. We hear of businesses laying off staff, would they have anyway? is this good timing for them? we'll wait and see. My job searching is stumbling along, nothing has really caught my eye yet, so still looking. The tennis is improving, we're both entered in a tournament this w/end.... The delay in updating this site was caused initially by the internet crashing on me last time I wrote a long paragraph and consequently lost everything. Then we were sulking after the thrashing on the tennis courts, as we were thrown in the deep end against seasoned pros. My partner (who I'd never met before ) was not very mobile, which didn't bother me, I didn't mind covering the court, but she unfortunately put too many balls in the net and the opposition made us pay. I've learned if the people on the other side of the net look slow they'll make it up in positioning and clever shots. Lastly I'm now working so time has suddenly become very valuable to us both. I've landed a great job just 7 minutes drive from home, pay and hours to suit, so we're very happy. |
