Rothesay Writings September 2003

Ray & Elaine Torrielli have recently spent a couple of months in the USA.  They enjoyed their stay but reckon its great to be back.  He said his old ticker is getting better and hopes to join us at a meeting soon.  He wishes all the Brethren well.

You will find some raffle tickets enclosed with your notice this month.  Please help support this as Noel Sharp and Russell Hamill really put a lot of effort into making it a success each year.   The raffle will be drawn at the Christmas breakfast at Noel and Jess Sharp’s place to be held on Saturday morning 6 December.

Our last meeting was interesting.  We adjourned to the South to hear from Brethren who had joined the Lodge in other states.

Mike and Nancy Murphy are moving to Indonesia for two years on 10 November.  They will be at a place called Soroako in Sulawesi where Mike will be working at a Nickel mine.

From Grand Secretary Newsletter

It was interesting to receive a large number of clippings from local papers from Wor. Bro. Merv Brown of Caloundra Lodge and from R. W. Bro. Stan Anderson PAGM from newspapers on the Sunshine Coast.

Lodges on the Sunshine Coast have been quick to use their talents in promoting their Lodge activities in a number of areas and it would appear that the local papers are more than happy to assist them in this regard by printing the information given to them.

I urge all Lodges to use their local press as much as possible in the promotion of freemasonry and their activities within their local community. I am sure that local editors will be only too happy to assist in any way possible in ensuring that good information is given the correct space in their papers.
