This section of the web page is more for my remembrance and a diary, but feel free to look around and see what I have done with my life. (Currently being built, be patient, Rome was not built in a day!).  I now know what a stubborn kid I must of been through most of these times, so I want some of these people to know that I appreciate them bearing with me.

My first commitment in life was to the Boy Scouts.  I spent at least 8 years of my life dedicated to achieving the rank of Eagle, I started with being a lowly Bobcat, then a Webelo, and finally an Eagle.  My grandfather and his brother achieved it, 3 of my Uncles received it and possibly one day my son will try at it.  But nonetheless I enjoyed my time with the Scouts.  During that time I went to New Mexico (70 Miles of Hiking and Rock Climbing) , New Hampshire (Canoeing and Rock Climbing),  White Water Rafting in Pennsylvania and Ohio,  Winter Camping with only Tarps, Camping once a month, Summer camp every summer, and met one of my greatest friends in Scouts and his great family (Derek Muth).  I went on to build a Storage/Work shed for the Presbyterian Church and earned my Eagle.  The Eagle that was presented to me was from my Grandfathers Brother who received it personally from Daniel Beard, one of the pioneers of scouting.

Next thing to tackle in life was High School, there I was involved in a sport called "American Football".  I was never quite good at the game, that just means that I could be a good coach some day.  I still remember playing and having fun at it.  Where else would it be legal to chuck someone in the jaw and get praised for it.  I am still pretty good friends with some of the people I played with, two of them were even in my wedding party (Chris Greulich & Mike Barett).  The best memory of that time was beating Barberton our senior year, they would of won the Metro title, but lost it because of us beating them.  I also remember playing at Barberton as a freshmen on JV it was hailing with 2 inches of snow on the ground.  Sometimes the best times in life or those that test your stamina, and will to live.

Also in High School I was in two Plays (both were little shop of horrors play.jpg (19289 bytes) and I was the Plant Puppeteer), active in Church Youth Group, Teen Institute, and was voted most involved in Vo-Ed, how about that? (they like me, they really like me!).  I was on the TV commercial "Best of the Class" along with another member of my wedding party (Scott Perusek).  I also earned letters in Track (pole vault, shot put, and Hurdles) and Football (Tackle, and Def. End) 2nd team all metro my senior year. (could of should of and would of that year, if we happened to have a good coach).  I also gave a pretty bad speech at Graduation (Titled, "Weeble-Woobles Wooble but they don't fall down) it did not go over too well with most folks, but I am glad I did it just the same (Most of those people are where I warned them they might be).  I also met my future wife to be my senior year in honors analytics, that was the only thing that class did for me.

In College I thought I had done all the involvement things I needed to do in my life, unfortunately I ended up taking on even more.  The first and most important would be Sigma Nu (Will expand at later time).  These men are responsible for who I am today and I would of been lost without them. The second group I joined (actually twice) was cheerleading.  Yet again a sport I was never good at, man I will make one hell of a coach someday (I must get this humbleness from my Uncle Amster).  But it was a great stress reliever.  I joined ROTC my second year, and except for not receiving a scholarship that was also one of my good choices in my life, great friends, great times, and a great career.  I was also involved with a outdoor adventure club for awhile, did some great outdoor things: rock climbing, spelunking.  Me and my wife went parachuting for the first time while in college.  I also went white water rafting and many many road trips.  At the end of it all I was awarded an outstanding senior award (only male in class of over 2,000 to get the award), Presidents award (Top Cadet), and Distinguished Graduate of ROTC (Top AF Cadet).  I graduated with a 3.6 in EE earning BS Cum Laude degree and a neato' medal.  Somewhere in there I had time to get married and get commissioned twice, the first one I gave a little speech at it as well, this one a little better but not much.

Another subject in my life, has been my hobbies.  One of the currently most prolific is flying.  Since I started flying with my parents long ago, I have always been fascinated with the concept of flight.  And for that reason alone I started to collect personal refuse bags (Barf Bags) (Why? I have no idea).  But in High school, I started thinking about long term goals, and decided that I wanted to be the first man on Mars, why? just because I think it would be cool....  So I keep that in the back of my mind until my second year of college when I decided I did not want to be an EE for the rest of my life, and I needed another way to be at NASA, so the logical way was the Air Force.  There I got my first "flights" in "real" planes. I flew many trips in a C-130 to: Niagra Falls circling at 500', a trip to Cocoa beach for a weekend in Feb, and many other local Ohio flights.  One year I went to Georgia and got two rides in KC-135s, in both I got to ride in the "boom" operators box to watch aerial re-fuelings.  We refueled 16 F-15s and another KC-135, this pretty much hooked me to be a pilot.  The next summer I got to try my hand at flying, I got 3 flights in a Cessna.  On my first flight ever the pilot told me to take the plane immediately after take-off, and I did and we went up to 2,000'  I got to fly over Sandusky Ohio seeing Cedar Point from the sky.  More recently I have gotten to fly over 40 hrs in a Cherokee Piper while earning my Private Pilots License( I eventually flew my In-Laws in one).  I have gotten more flights in C-17s witnessing a Combat Off-load, Heavy Air Drop, 2-Ship Low Level through the mountains(<300'!) a 6-ship formation of Mannequin air drops (fake parachutists) and I got to see an aerial refueling from the receiving end.
