Our Adventure..
November 15, 2004

It was raining the whole morning, but it didn't stop us from going anyway.  From Iloilo City we went to the pumpboat terminal to go to Guimaras Island. When we arrived at Jordan, a town in the Island, we took a 40-minute jeepney ride to Nueva Valencia.  Once there, we rode a tricycle to the beach resort in Alubihod (That took approx. 10 minutes). After we checked-in the resort, we rented a pump boat for 300 pesos (about US$ 5.50*) for the first hour.  The pumpboat operator charges us another 100 pesos (about US$ 2.00*) for each additional hour. {Prices may increase during peak months (March to June), so try hagling.}
Our adventure ended late in the afternoon.
Guimaras Island - HOW TO GET THERE...

If you're in the Philippines, then go to Iloilo City
via a domestic airplane (1 hour from Manila) or a passenger sea liner (1 to 2 days from Manila).
From the Iloilo City Proper, go to Ortiz Street and ride a pumpboat to the Island.
Information:
Guimaras is famous the world over for their smooth, sweet, juicy mangoes and their cashews.
To Ilonggos and Guimarasnons, the island is nicknamed "Guam".
