Well, here it is, the new version of Mike's world news service. Basically, it's the same as before, a whole load of links, but tarted up this time with some flags and a few maps. I've tried to get a news site for every country on the planet, in English, but it wasn't always possible. You'll find a few in Spanish, French, and maybe even the odd one in Italian and Portuguese, but never fear, google.com will merrily translate the sites into gibbenglish for you. For some countries I couldn't find a site from either within the country itself or one run by exiles, so I had to rely on general news sites with sections for each country, but that's better than nothing..

Each site can be accessed by clicking on the relevant flag for the country. You'll normally be able to tell which one is which, but it does get a little ropey at times. I am an amateur, after all. Non-independent countries are italicised, and you can navigate easily from continent to continent by clicking on the links. Click on the continents on either side of this text to access each map, and some further websites for International Organisations. pressure groups, charities, and the like can also be found by clicking "other links".

The maps are courtesy of www.worldatlas.com. Oh yes, I used local, unofficial flags for French Overseas Departments and Territories rather than the French Tricolour as they were prettier.
