| The music mix features a blend of modern, country and country classics, including the latest countdown by Crook and Chase. Programs such as Ellen's Home and the Old Farmers Almanac are also a part of the daily format. Showing its committment to area producers, the station also carries the Red River Farm Network, American Ag Network, and the popular AgriTalk program. KZZJ is dedicated to providing the region with the most complete and comprehensive local news coverage. With the combination of the local news team, the Associated Press News, Dakota Sports, and the Dakota News Network, no other station is so dedicated to covering local events. The station also focuses on local high school play-by-play sports and also features the dependable Weather Eye Weather Center. Through the years, the station has also taken a lot of pride in providing youth with training and an opportunity to learn the radio broadcasting business. Many broadcasters who got their start at KZZJ, now have full-time, permanent careers in broadcasting. |

| After almost a year of negotiating, paperwork and support from many people, Rugby's local radio station, KZZJ, also known as 1450 on your radio dial, is now under new ownership. Lila Brossart, Rugby, purchased the AM radio station on Jan. 1, making her the only female sole owner of a radio station in the state of North Dakota. Brossart is no stranger to the radio station, since prior to acquiring the station from its previous owner, Del Nygard, she had served as the station's general manager for the past three years. A graduate of NDSU, Fargo, Brossart has served in many different aspects of the broadcasting field throughout the years. Brossart said that she definitely has some future goals for the station, one of which includes the addition of a new digital solid-state transmitter and a 180-foot tower to be erected later this month. She also looks foward to strengthening the ties in local news, weather, and sporting events. |

| KZZJ was established by the late Judge Ray Friederich of Rugby in 1959. Together with a group of community leaders, he sold shares in the business and began broadcasting from a small building adjacent to the present building, which is located south of Rugby on Highway 2. In 1993, a 1300 square-foot building was constructed with all new broadcasting equipment, office equipment and a main studio and production studio. A cement floor was recently poured in the lower level of the building, which Brossart hopes to utilize as possible conference meeting rooms and which will house the new transmitter. Brossart said the Rugby Economic Development Director Gary Satern, George Youngerman of the North Dakota Small Business Development Center and Wes Black of Bremer Bank in Rugby have all been instrumental in putting this together and making a dream come true. For any questions or more information, the station's website address is www.kzzj.com, and their telephone number is 701-776-5254. |

KZZJ is an AM 1000-watt station that stays on the air 24 hours a day and cover about 75 miles in any direction. It has the capability of reaching an estimated 38,000 listeners who live in Pierce, McHenry, Towner, Benson, and Rolette counties. |
