6. Cement a Crown
1. Bib on

5. Remove temp crown
6. Clean out the temp cement
7. Try on the crown (Inform the patient don’t swallow the crown if it drops)
8. Take a BW or PA – on the view box
9. Set up the cement ready
10. Hand piece / a diamond bur (most likely)
11. A Floss & Articulated paper
12. Patient mirror

 

7. 1 Hour Bleaching
1. Consent form must be signed; pre-shade selection
2. Inform the patient that cavities should be taken care first or they may cause sensitivities.
3. Cleaning must be done first: RP’s, Light scales
4. Prophylaxis must be done be for any one hour bleaching or results may not be very effective.
8. Minimal instrument need for a amalgam kit
1. Amalgam carrier
2. Spoon excavators
3. Condenser – two flat ends
4. Ball burnish
5. Archon burnish

 

9. Dental Assistant

2. Doctors need your helps big time; they can not do a good job without your hard working
3. If you are feeling not ready to work on the day, please do not come to work.
4. Try to support the doctor as much as your ability; your permissions and maximize them to help your doctors.

                                                               i.      Sit the patient

                                                          iii.      Taking a good radiograph; mounted and show on the view box; Doctors need to see x-ray during the works

                                                          iv.      Complete the set up; show the x-ray; apply the topical anesthesia on gingival tissue (gum).

                                                            v.      Help doctors to take impression for study models, opposing model, bite register, shade selection (more people – better shade selected)

                                                           vi.      Try to suction as much as you can; if you cannot see the detail of the tooth, the doctor cannot see it neither.

                                                          vii.      Please retract the lips, gingival tissue, suction at the same time

5. Maintain the burs sets

                                                               i.      Crown prep –10 sets

                                                             ii.      Composite – 10 sets

                                                            iii.      RCT file 21mm – 10 sets

                                                           iv.      RCT files 25mm – 10 sets

6. Keep track of the cases and confirm with the lab
7. If any problem with the lab, let Dr. know as soon as
8. Please have the lab Emergency Cell Phone – let office manager know if the labs do not give their cell phones to the office
9. Please clean up the chair as soon as after the patient leave; OSHA does not allow to leave contaminated instruments or dirty units.

 

10. Front office staffs
1. Please always to schedule the cleaning first, before any other procedure
2. Please let the specific doctor know, what went wrong on their patients
3. Please try to space the time for the doctor to have a lunch break
4. Major cases – please schedule in the early morning or before 5 pm if possible
5. If patient is very happy with the works done, please ask the patient to

                                                               i.      Write thanks notes to motivate the Doctor

                                                             ii.      Ask the permission to share the Thanks note

                                                            iii.      Ask the permission to take a picture before and after

 

11. X-ray
1. So far so good.
2. Pedo—2 PA + 2 BW
3. Wisdom teeth – did not show on the regular x-ray.. a Pano; No neck chain or large earrings.
4. Edentulous – no teeth -- Pano

 

12. Ivania and Esmeralda
1. Please allows dental material ready for the works; Doctors try to save as much as possible, but they are also looking for good works done.  For examples, if no cord to take impression…. 90 % cases have to redo… as results … more waste on the material.  If no endo files --- most molars must be refer to specialists --- crowns can be done until they send back the patient.  If no glove, Dr. can’t see the patients.
2. Next year – Dr. Dong is looking to work one day late (8 p.m) if two dates late in a week; feeling like no productive after 7 pm.  Of course there are some exception that makes profit for the office
