Here we go! This looks much better then the patchwork quilt I drove around for about 6 years! Well, almost. It doesn't sit quite high enough you say?? I agree... Those 33 12.50's with no lift just don't cut it. Next up is plans for an 8" Skyjacker lift with some 38 boggers.
So here it is, my 1986 K-10 with my first bodywork and paint project attempt finished. I guess you'd really have to have seen this thing when I first bought it about 10 years ago to appreciate the way it looks here. I am really happy with the look I have with the truck now, it is close to what I had always wanted finally.

It was a huge learning experience for my first paint job attempt, as mentioned already in the pictures from earlier. But through hours of wetsanding and buffing / compounding the single stage paint job, I was able to get it to shine pretty good. I could keep going to get the finish just mint, but what's the point if I plan to bury this thing up to the doors in mud anyway!?
You'd be hard pressed to find a single part on the exterior or interior that hasn't been replaced. I wanted to keep it fairly clean, and somewhat stock looking. The major changes in the future will be the suspension and driveline, with the eventual addition of my rollbar with KC highlights. Other then that it will stay clean looking with the stock appeal.
Here's a few more quick photos of some of the work. I want to take some better pictures soon, because there's been a few small final details that will look a bit different. My first day driving it on July 4th, I had a blowout on the left rear tire! Thank god Greg Sr. drives a Chevy and rescued my ass with his new Silverado and loaned me his spare. When I get the truck back home, more photos to come...
I modded the gauge cluster with a full set of ProComp Ultralites. More to come with photos of the buildup soon. This is a 90's Chevy K series steering wheel too. It bolts right in with some small mods for the horn.
Here's the inside. Painted it with my buddy Dave's help more then 8 years ago and it still holds the black paint well! Finally got all the parts installed and finished up. I will list out all the mods to the inside soon. The stereo rocks too!
Just a few more quick work in progress photos. The electrical system was entirely reworked, with a custom harness from front to back. More details soon!
