| Our Xai-Xai preaching began with a tract/invitation drop in which we went around the neighborhood distributing papers to invite the people to the meeting which was to begin at noon. It was a rather interesting situation since there were six of us who did not speak Tsonga or Portuguese and only two that did. So communication was often difficult and impossible. I asked one young lady if she spoke English and she said she did. After three tries to get her to come along so we could pass out the papers I had to give up! But, as you can see, a crowd did gather and we were able to preach the Word to them. | |||||||||||||||||
| Pastor Hixson from our home church in the US went first. The original plan was for him to do the whole service. But we found that the longer he went on the more people that came. When he ended his message there was a pretty good group of folks gathered and they seemed ready for more. So I got up to give a message from John 3 on the snake in the wilderness. We are planning another trip to Xai-Xai in July. Sergio suggested that we begin with a children's ministry in order to attract the crowd (because the children came first) and then move into an adult's lesson afterwards once the adults have all assembled. | |||||||||||||||||
| John Swaim, a member of Pastor Hixson's church was able to share a testimony with the folks as well. | |||||||||||||||||
