ORIGIN OF NAME

From Origine Des Familles Canadiennes-Francaises: The name Bisaillon is believed to have come from the town called Bersaillin, located in the Jura region of France in the canton of Poligny. Another source Le dictionnaire des noms, states the name of Bizalion and the variation of Bizaillon originates from the departement of Loire or Haut-Loire in France, and suggest the name may have originated in a number of ways: (1) from occitan bisalhar (to plow or sow twice); (2) from the old french bisaille (mixes seeds); (3) from the hamlet of Bizailloux at Saint-Antheme in the departement of Puy-de-Dome; or (4) from the hamlet of Bizalie at Saint-Jal in the departement of Correze.
