John Morton's Nissan Accident
The session was almost over, and I had just walked away from the spectator fence when I heard the sound of the over-revving engine of John Morton's Nissan GTP as it lifted into the air. When I turned the nose of the car was just visible above the campers near the track.
When we saw the helmet resting on the dashboard we thought Morton's head had ripped off his body, luckily it was just the helmet, and despite some severe burns he was back at the track (but not driving) on Monday.
