| Updated 10/11/03 Good hello, and welcome to my CDr trade list. Plenty of my stuff includes cover and tray art, and I've got a scanner, so I can send artwork (and I would like the same if possible.). The stuff I have artwork for has the titles listed in bold. The stuff without artwork has the titles listed in normal type (All the band names are also in bold). I don't really have any requirements (except no mp3's), so use whatever discs you like or whatever. I'm interested in pretty much anything, but some big wants include: Dead Milkmen, Nomeansno, Minutemen, Sparks, Blue Oyster Cult, Ramones, Faith No More, Buzzcocks, Fastbacks, Yes, Pink Floyd, New Order, Byrds, Camper Van Beethoven, Bad Brains, Rush, Big Boys, Motorhead, any 80's hardcore, Butthole Surfers, Pixies, Ween, etc, etc, etc. I'm also looking for anything more by the bands below, especially Black Sabbath, The Clash (anything!), Replacements, Dinosaur Jr, Soul Asylum and X. If you see anything you're interested in or have any questions, email me at: mailto: [email protected] Adios, Mike. Angry Samoans - Live In San Francisco 57:50, Quality - B+ 1. Gas Chamber 2. The sound is also quite good, if it wasn't for a bunch of tape farts and drop outs (especially during Spanish Bombs), the show would be a high B. If anyone has a better copy, let me know. The sound on this is so low and warbly that it's not much fun to listen to. I'm gonna try to pump up the volume, so that might help it a little. We'll see. I have this listed as Live In Cardiff because that's what it usually trades as, and that's what I recieved it as. This a pretty kickin' example of the Clash live during the beginning. Everything's pretty pumped up and the band is rocking their socks off to boot. The Clash - Live In Chicago 63:52, Quality - B 1. Jimmy Jazz 2. I'm So Bored With The USA 3. Complete Control 4. Another really good show. The sound isn't bad at all; Mick and Paul are really loud, and the sound is kinda of distorted, but pretty beefy. Great stuff. I really dig these 1984 shows. The Cut The Crap songs are so much better live and the band rocks up a storm. The sound on this one ain't too hot though; kinda thin and weak. If there's a better copy out there I'd love to hear it. The Clash - Live In New York 72:29, Quality - B-. 1. Brand New Cadillac 2. Safe European Home 3. Jimmy Jazz 4. London Calling 5. The played a bunch of nights straight here (9/24 - 9/30 to be exact) and this is a sort of "best of" of those nights. I've only got their first album, so I don't know about half of these songs, but I do know that this rocks pretty hard. Everything's so hopped up and sped up, it's great. One problem is that there's tiny millisecond gaps between songs but it doesn't interfere too much. Otherwise, this is great stuff. Flaming Lips - Live on KCRW 41:15, Quality - A 1. Love Battery 1-19: Live at the Eagle's Club, Milwaukee, WI 10/29/89. 20-28: Live at the WUST Radio Hall, Washington DC 6/2085. Notes: This is some good shit here. These guys are probably the best punk band from Chicago ever (in dead heat with the Effigies) and they're in great form here. Very nice. The '85 tracks are a bit lower quality, and contain a few skips on the last track but are still very nice. New Order - Live At The Hacienda 61:00, Quality - B. 1. As It Is When It Was 2. Sunrise 3. Face Up 4. Perfect Kiss 5. Your Silent Face 6. Sooner Than You Think 7. This Time Of Night 8. Confusion 9. Temptation 10. Age Of Consent Notes: Live at the Hacienda, Manchester, England 12/3/85. Good show, but the sound gets a bit muffled by the end. New Order - Live At The Reading Festival '93 59:58, Quality - A. 1. Ruined In A Day 2. Regret 3. Round And Round 4. World 5. As It Is When It Was 6. Everyone Everywhere 7. True Faith 8. Temptation 9. Perfect Kiss 10. Fine Time 11. Blue Monday Notes: Live at the Reading Festival, Reading, England 8/29/93. I actually enjoyed this much more than I thought I would. There's a bunch of stuff from Republic, but everything is so rocking that it makes up for it. And despite of what I may think of Republic, Regret is very cool song. Very cool. New Order - Live At The Reading Festival '98 37:50, Quality - A. 1. Regret 2. Touched By The Hand Of God 3. Isolation 4. Atmosphere 5. Paradise 6. True Faith 7. Temptation 8. World In Motion Notes: Live at the Reading Festival, Reading, England 8/98. This is a very rockin show, I mean, just look at the set list! I the whole show is out there and I would very much like to get a copy of it. New Order - Live In Finsbury Park 74:33, Quality - B. 1. Perfect Kiss (1st Try) 2. Ceremony 3. Perfect Kiss 4. Sunrise 5. Subculture 6. Your Silent Face 7. Leave Me Alone 8. This Time Of Night 9. Confusion 10. Age Of Consent 11. Face Up 12. Blue Monday 13. Regret 2. Touched By The Hand Of God 3. Isolation 4. Ceremony 5. Atmosphere 6. Heart And Soul 7. Paradise 8. Confusion 9. Bizarre Love Triangle 10. True Faith 11. Temptation 12. Blue Monday 13. Guilty Partner 14. Love Will Tear Us Apart 15. In A Lonely Place Notes: Live at the Manchester Evening Arena, Manchester, England 7/16/98. This ain't a bad show, but it definitely sounds like it was recorded outdoors, because the sound is quite warbley. New Order - Live In Tokyo 50:33, Quality - A. 1. Confusion 2. Love Vigilantes 3. We All Stand 4. As It Is When It Was 5. Subculture 6. Face-Up 7. Sunrise 8. This Time Of Night 9. Blue Monday Notes: Live at Kosei Nekin Kaiken Hall, Tokyo, Japan 5/2/85. I love New Order and all, but man, they're a pretty dinky live band. One minute they'll be completely genius but then the next minute they'll be absolute crap. This still is pretty cool, though, as the sound is great and they do a bunch of stuff from Low-Life. Nirvana - B Side Themselves 69:52, Quality - A. 1. Turnaround 2. D-7 3. Son Of A Gun 4. Gallons Of Rubbing Alcohol Flow Through The Strip Notes: A collection of various B Sides throughout the years. This is all officially released stuff, but it's much cheaper than buying their gazillion singles and imports. Nirvana - Complete Radio Sessions 72:24, Quality - A-. 1. Love Buzz 2. About A Girl 3. Here She Comes Now 17. Where Did You Sleep Last Night? 18. Drain You 19. Polly 20. Territorial Pisssings 21. Lithium Notes: Just what the title says. There's some overlap with the B Sides CD above, but not too much. The sound's kinda hissy here too, but it doesn't detract too much from the music. Not bad. Nirvana - Demotapes (1988-1990) 73:08, Quality - A. 1. If You Must 2. Downer 3. Floyd The Barber 4. Paper Cuts 5. Spank Thru 6. Beeswax 7. Pen Cap Chew 8. Aero Zeppelin 9. Beeswax 10. Pay To Play Notes: Once again, just what the title says; Demos from '88 to '90. There's some repeats, and the versions are all pretty similar, but come on, its got Pen Cap Chew! Man, that song is so awesome... Nirvana - The Final Fix 79:57, Quality - A. 1. Radio Friendly Unit Shifter 2. Drain You 3. Breed 4. Serve The Servants 5. Come As You Are 6. Smells Like Teen Spirit 7. Scentless Apprentice 22. Heart Shaped Box 23. "Improvision (Including Drum Solo)" 24. The Man Who Sold The World Notes: Live in Roma 2/22/94. Very good show with a lot of the songs I'd want to hear. The Man Who Sold The World sounds exactly like the one from Unplugged, and very well might be. Nirvana - Outcesticide 69:57, Quality - overall B+. 1. If You Must 2. Downer 3. Floyd The Barber 4. Talk To Me Notes: Various unreleased tracks, including the 1st demo (tracks 1-7) and "unreleased Sub Pop mini album" (tracks 16-18). There's some pretty good stuff on here, but also a lot of filler type junk (for me at least). Nirvana - Outcesticide II 73:16, Quality - overall B+. 1. In Bloom 2. Imodium 3. Help Me 4. Oh, The Guilt 5. Smells Like Teen Spirit 6. Pennyroyal Tea 7. It's Closing Soon 8. Heart Shaped Box 9. Scentless Apprentice 10. Been A Son 11. Something In The Way 12. Negative Creep 13. Smells Like Teen Spirit Notes: More various outtakes and such. Scentless Apprentice is insane on here and Baba O'Riley is pretty darn funny. Some of the stuff here is a bit sketchy in quality (mostly the Syd Barrett stuff), but other than that, this is really great. The version of Echoes is awesome. Pink Floyd - Electric Factory 2 x CD 73:19 & 76:28, Quality - B-. Disc One: 1. Astronomy Domine 2. Cymbaline 3. A Saucerful Of Secrets 4. Interstellar Overdrive 5. Fat Old Sun Disc Two: 1. Green Is The Colour 3. Careful With That Axe, Eugene 4. Fat Old Sun 5. Cymbaline Disc Two: 1. A Saucerful Of Secrets 2. Atom Heart Mother 3. Interstellar Overdrive Notes: Live at the Santa Monica Civic Center, Santa Monica, CA 10/23/70. Not a bad show, but the crappy sound makes it kinda useless when you've got a better show from the same period (see above). Pixies - Live at the Leysin Festival 64:37, Quality - A. 1. The first time I listened to this I thought it was crap, but now I think it's pretty cool. Kinda hissy, but cool. Remember kids, no matter how much Sting may suck (and he does suck quite a bit) that doesn't mean the Police sucked. The Police rock and they rock hard. Word. (more) R-Z |

See, I work in a record store, and I was working full time over the summer; opening and closing and all that good stuff. Being that I was the last one leaving, I'd often take home some stuff to copy. And since I really like that song National Anthem, I've got a lot of Radiohead. How 'bout that? Radiohead - Kids Are All Right 55:28, Quality - A. 1. Optimistic 2. Morning Bell 3. Lucky 4. This show's kinda weird. The beginning is mostly their own songs, but just fragments. Not like drunken start and stop really, but like random parts. It doesn't sound like there's any edits though. The rest of the shows pretty straightforward, but it fades out pretty early. Hmm. Replacements - Live At The I-Beam 2 x CD 45:44 & 44:44, Quality - B- Disc One: 1. Hayday 2. 20th Century Boy 3. Borstal Breakout Notes: Live at the I-Beam, San Francisco, CA 12/9/85. The songs are there and the sound ain't bad but for some reason this show just doesn't do too much for me. Either the tape's running a tiny bit slow or the band just wasn't kicking that night. Nothing's bad, it's not to that level of excellence that a lot of their other shows are. Nice version of Borstal Breakout though. Replacements - Live At Jimmy's 2 x CD 42:42 & 41:03, Quality - B-. Disc One: 1. I'm In Trouble 2. Dose Of Thunder 3. Color Me Impressed 4. Favorite Thing 5. Did You No Wrong Notes: Live at the 7th St. Entry, Minneapolis 1/8/84. This show would be a lot better if the sound wasn't so bad. They put on quite a good performance, but it's just kinda hard to hear it. You don't really hear much of Paul and Bob fight besides some scuffling and audience noise. Replacements - Maniac 2 x CD 56:54 & 50:14, Quality - Maxwell's show: A-, everything else: B-. Disc One: 1. Hayday 2. Color Me Impressed 3. Dose Of Thunder 4. Fox On The Run 5. Hold My Life 6. Notes: This is the Mats at their most punk rockin', so you know it's good stuff. Lots of great covers, too. Rolling Stones - The Jean Clark Memorial Sonic Barbeque 51:52, Quality - B+. 1. Gimme Shelter 2. Happy 3. Tumbling Dice 4. Star Star 5. Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo (Heartbreaker) 6. Sweet Virginia 7. Dancing With Mr. D 8. Angie 9. You Can't Always Get What You Want 10. Good sound, and it's got songs from my two favorite Stones albums (Exile and Goat's Head Soup). Awesome. The Smiths - Elvis Presly Is Dead 63:37, Quality - B+. 1. The Queen Is Dead 2. Panic 3. Vicar In A Tutu 4. There Is A Light That Never Goes Out 5. Ask 6. (Crowd Noise) 7. Rusholme Ruffians 8. The Boy With The Thorn In His Side 9. What She Said 10. Cemetry Gates 11. London 12. I Know It's Over 13. The Draize Train 14. Still Ill 15. Is It So Strange? 16. How Soon Is Now? 17. Bigmouth Strikes Again Notes: Live at the National Ballroom, Kilburn, England 10/23/86. The CD says these are outtakes from Rank, but I've only heard Rank once a while ago so I can't really confirm that. Oh well, it's still a pretty swell performance. Soul Asylum - Live At First Avenue 2 x CD 45:49 & 39:56, Quality - B+ Disc One: 1. Chains 2. Little Too Clean 3. Closer To The Stars 4. Sometime To Return 5. Marionette 6. Made To Broken 7. Sonic Reducer Notes: Live at First Avenue, Minneapolis, MN 12/24/88. Aw man, now this is what I'm talking about! Total rock power. I mean, they do Sonic Reducer for christsakes! A must have if you dig Soul Asylum. One problem: The volume on Disc Two is a lot lower than on Disc One. The sound quality's exactly the same, it's just a problem with the volume. I'm working on fixing it, so it's all good. Soul Asylum - We're The Opening Band 40:55, Quality - B. 1. Veil Of Tears 2. Something Out Of Nothing 3. Cartoon 4. Keep It Up 5. Without A Trace 6. Runaway Train 7. Black Gold 8. April Fool 9. To Sir With Love 10. Sometime To Return 11. Somebody To Shove Notes: Live on US Tour 1/23/93. I think is from LA opening for Keith Richards (hence the title), but I'm not positive. Pretty good audience tape and pretty rocking performance, much better than the Westwood One radio show that floats around. Soul Asylum - Westwood One 45:02, Quality - A. 1. Without A Trace/Get On Out/New World 2. Black Gold/Runaway Train/Spinnin'/Somebody To Shove 3. April Fool/Sexual Healing Notes: Live at the Ventura Theater sometime in 1993. This is one of actual radio discs, so it's got all the ads and commentary and such (which are actually pretty funny in a really lame sort of way.). The performance isn't hot, I guess it's because Dave Pirner had a cold. Oh well. Joe Strummer - Germany Calling 57:56, Quality - A. 1. London Calling 2. X Ray Style 3. Rock The Casbah 4. White Man 5. Yalla Yalla 6. Brand New Cadillac 7. I Fought The Law 8. Tommy Gun 9. Bank Robber 10. Interview 11. London Calling 12. Yalla Yalla 13. Brand New Cadillac 1-10: Live at the Bizzare Festival, Cologne 8/21/99. 11-13: Live in A Summer Festival 8/99. Notes: Some song repetition, but Joe Strummer always puts on a good show, so it's alright (plus it doesn't hurt that they're good songs.). Joe Strummer - Live at the Metro 2 x CD 40:15 & 70:31, Quality - B-. Disc One: 1. Cool n' Out 2. Global A Go-Go 3. Rudie Can't Fail 4. Bhindi Bhagee 5. Armagideon Time 6. Shaktar Donetsk 7. Mega Bottle Ride Disc Two: 1. Police And Thieves 2. Tony Adams 3. Mondo Bongo 4. Johnny Appleseed 5. Bummed Out City 6. Police On My Back 7. The Harder They Come 8. Pressure Drop 9. I Fought The Law 10. Bankrobber 11. Yalla Yalla 12. A Message To You Rudie 13. London's Burning 14. Trash City 15. Blitzkrieg Bop Notes: Live at the Metro, Chicago, IL 10/15/01. There's a lot of audience noise on this. The setlist is almost identical to when I saw him on this tour, but it's still a rockin' show. Sugar - Bob's Full House 75:57, Quality - B+. 1. The Act We Act 2. A Good Idea 3. Changes 4. Out Of Time 5. Helpless 6. If I Can't Change Your Mind 7. Where Diamonds Are Halos 8. Hoover Dam 9. Beer Commercials 10. Slick 11. Anyone 12. Clownmaster 13. The Slim 14. Armenia City In The Sky 15. Dum Dum Boys 16. Man In The Moon 17. Tilted 18. J.C. Auto 19. Hoover Dam 20. Lonely Blue Dreams 1-16: Live at the Cabaret Metro, Chicago, IL 7/22/92. 17-18: Live at University Of London Union, UK 8/1/92. 19: Mark Goodier Radio 1 Session 8/24/92. 20: Bob Mould solo improvisation on college radio 7/7/91. Notes: Methinks this is a better show than the bonus disc of Besides. Rockin' all the way through. The bonus tracks are lower in sound quality, C maybe. Talking Heads - Live at the Stardust Ballroom 62:54, Quality - A. 1. Artists Only 2. Stay Hungry 3. Cities 4. Paper 5. Mind 6. Heaven 7. Electric Guitar 8. Air 9. New Feeling 10. Building On Fire 11. Found A Job 12. Psycho Killer (cuts in) 13. Life During Wartime 14. Take Me To The River Notes: Live at the Stardust Ballroom, Los Angeles, CA 9/29/79. A really good show with plenty of Fear Of Music stuff, which can only be a good thing. Television - Double Exposure 70:02, Quality - B+. 1. Prove It 2. Friction 3. Venus 4. Double Exposure 5. Marquee Moon 6. Fire Engine 7. Blank Generation 8. Double Exposure 9. Hard On Love 10. Friction 11. Careful 12. Prove It 13. Fire Engine 14. Little Johnny Jewel 15. Breakin' In My Heart 1-5: 1974 studio demos with Brian Eno. 6-8: Live at CBGB's 1975. 9-14: 1975 studio demos (same session as Little Johnny Jewel single). 15: Live at the Picadilly Inn 7/25/75. Notes: This is sooo cool. The first eight tracks are with Richard Hell, the rest are the regular old Television line up. The sound on this is really great, and it's worth it just for Double Exposure. Dude, that song is so good... Television - Live In Cleveland 1975 77:18, Quality - B+. 1. Fire Engine 2. Poor Circulation 3. Hard On Love 4. Friction 5. Marquee Moon 6. Breakin' In My Heart 7. Psychotic Reaction 8. Come On In 9. Prove It 10. Careful 11. Little Johnny Jewel 12. Foxhole 13. Kingdom Come Notes: Live at the Picadilly Inn, Cleveland, OH 7/75. I think this is a compilation of the two nights they played in Cleveland, as there are a few edits and the track list doesn't match any I've seen. However, don't let that deter you, because the performance is AWESOME. I mean, they do Psychotic Reaction! How cool is that! Television - Live In Portland 74:53, Quality - B-. 1. Dream's Dream 2. Elevation 3. Glory 4. Foxhole 5. Little Johnny Jewel 6. Friction 7. Marquee Moon 8. Poor Circulation 9. Satisfaction (fades in) 10. Fire Engine 11. O Mi Amore 12. Adventure Notes: Live at the Earth Tavern, Portland, OR 7/3/78. I think the last few tracks are from CBGB's in 1975, but I'm not completely sure. They're definately from a different source though. This show has the BEST version of Marquee Moon I've ever heard. It's absolutely amazing. The sound would be better, but it's mastered from a scratchy and poppy old LP. But the version of Marquee Moon makes up from it. So good. Television - Portable Electricity 66:41, Quality - B+. 1. The Dream's Dream 2. Venus 3. Fox Hole 4. Careful 5. Ain't That Nothin' 6. Little Johnny Jewel 7. Friction 8. Marquee Moon 9. Satisfaction 10. Little Johnny Jewel (single) 1-9: Live at the Old Wardorf, San Francisco, CA 6/28/78. 10: Original Ork single version. Notes: A very nice show with really good sound. Heavy on the Adventure material. The complete Ork single's a nice touch too. Television - This Case Is Closed 77:28, Quality - B. 1. Fire Engine 2. Glory 3. Grip Of Love 4. Foxhole 5. Dreams Dream 6. Ain't That Nothin' 7. Friction 8. Prove It 9. Marquee Moon 10. Kingdom Come 11. Satisfaction Notes: Live at the Bottom Line, NYC 7/29/78. From "the first farewell show". A better sound than the live tape on ROIR, and they do some unreleased songs to boot. Sweet Sister Ray 2. Sister Ray/Murder Mystery/Sister Ray 3. Story Of My Life 1: Live at La Cave, Cleveland, OH 4/30/68. 2: Live at La Cave 1/28/69. 3: Live at La Cave 10/2/68. Notes: You have to be a real big Velvet Underground fan for this. I've got all their albums, and I never listen to this. Mastered off some old vinyl. There's a version of Venus In Furs on here too, but it's not listed on the back and I don't know where it's from. Velvet Underground - Wild Side Of The Street 66:41, Quality - B. 1. This is from his first solo tour and he does pretty much all the songs I'd want to hear off 14 Songs (and some I didn't want to hear...). It's a great performance with great sound and is well worth checking out. Paul Westerberg - Talent Show 2 x CD 75:51 & 67:31, Quality - A. Disc One: 1. Waiting For Somebody 2. World Class Fad 3. The bonus tracks are pretty much at that high level of quality, and the I'm In Trouble/Customer medley absolutely rips. Another must. The Who - Bridge To The Blues 2 x CD 70:39 & 73:57, Quality - A-. Baba O'Riley Notes: These are the Pete Townshend demos from the Who Are You sessions, except for the last two, which are from 1971. This is pretty cool , as Pete Townshend's demos are all worked out with all the instruments, so you aren't just getting dinky acoustic guitar run-thrus. Nice. This from the acoustic tour they did and while it's not as rockin' as their electric stuff it's still a darn good show. X - More Fun In Chicago 58:08, Quality - A-. 1. Motel Room In My Bed 2. Random vocals from Exene #3 Notes: Basicially a bunch of tracks from some random sources (The title is not mine by the way. I'd like to think I'm a little more clever than that.). Tracks 2, 11, 16, 19, 20, and parts of 22-24 are available officially, either on the Beyond And Back 2 x CD or the Rhino reissues of the first 3 albums. However, the other stuff on here is cool enough that it makes up for it, especially the version of Positively 4th Street (which was the B-Side of the 4th Of July single. Damn, I'm good.). The titles in quotes are my pathetic guesses, probably not even close to the real titles. X - The Once Over Twice 70:22, Quality - A-. 1. Sex And Dying In High Society 2. Because I Do 3. Blue Spark 4. Real Child Of Hell 5. Your Phone's Off The Hook 6. Universal Corner 7. Under The Big Black Sun 8. We're Desperate 9. Soul Kitchen 10. Year One 11. How I Learned My Lesson 12. Los Angeles 24. Year One 25. The New World 1-12: Live 12/24/82. 13-18: Live 8/25/85. 19-25: Live 10/4/84. Notes: The almighty X. I think these are all radio broadcasts, but I know that they all rock harder than a mutha. Word. XTC - The End Of The Tether 62:44, Quality - B 1. Ball And Chain 2. No Thugs In Our House 3. Senses Working Overtime 4. All Along The Watchtower 5. No Language In Our Lungs 6. Towers Of London 7. Making Plans For Nigel 8. Living Thru Another Cuba 9. Generals And Majors 10. Senses Working Overtime/Melt The Guns 11. Interview 12. Respectable Street 1-9: Live In Amsterdam 3/8/82. 10: Soundcheck Paris 3/18/82. 11: Interview with Andy Partridge on French TV. 12:Live In Paris 3/18/82. Notes: This is from the last XTC tour, right before Andy Partridge flipped out on stage and they stopped touring. In fact, Respectable Street is the song that he flipped out on; it just kinda stops and the recording fades out. The Paris soundcheck has awful sound quality. XTC - Helium Kidz Tracks And Others 56:37, Quality - B 1. Adrenalin 2. Private Eye 3. In Love With The Hurt 4. Shark In The Pool 5. Cafe 6. Star Park 7. Yabber Yabber Yabber 8. Saturn Boy 9. Walking Across The Ceiling 10. Saturn Boy II 11. Pupil Haze 12. Community Worker Breakdown 13. Whole Lotta Age 1-10: Helium Kidz demos. 11-13: Drunken Jam session. Notes: The Helium Kidz demos are pre XTC, and they sound nothing like what was to come. Kinda glammy. The Drunken Jam session is just funny. |
