entered life on August 1, 1989. He entered my life six weeks later, and has remained the truest and most loyal friend I have ever known.
When I decided to get a pet I was single at the time and wanted a dog as I have always been a dog person. However,I knew a dog would require more maintence, and I could not be gone all night if I chose. So it was settled....a cat
On one stop a friend and I found a litter of 6 kittens. All were in a box with towels as bedding. There they were six.... pairs of eyes all looking at me. My friend picked up a few of them and they all danced in his palm doing all the cute things a kitten is suppose to do.
There was one, however that was not acting cute and stupid. This one was looking at me with a fixed gaze. I picked him up and he sat in my palm straight as his back would allow and stared me right in the eyes. He was judging me!!! I knew he was looking at me and wondering if I was the right person for him!
As if suddenly possesed with heavenly knowledge from beyond I knew he had judged me, and decided I would indeed make a good pet for him. I instantly knew his name and also my place in his life.
It has been 15 years now, and I have been allowed the honor of remaining with him, but always knowing my proper place.
For this I am truly blessed.
