May 2000 - a double banger weekend held at NZKC Grounds, Ardmore. Labradors were judged on the Saturday by Mrs Carol Coode (UK) of Warringah Labradors  and on Sunday by her husband Mr David Coode.  The entry on each day was 114 dogs.

This was the Club's 40th Ruby Championship Show and was held in memory of Lil Monk who had recently passed away. She had 'Satin' Labrador kennels and her dogs are behind many successful kennels today. She was an active member of the Club for many years - wonderful in the catering department and was affectionally known as 'Mother" to everyone in the club. She served on committee in 1969, 1970, 1971, 1978 & 1980

May 2006 - "The Margaret Martin Memorial Championship Show" - held at NZKC Grounds, Ardmore and judged by Mrs Kirsi Luomanen (Finland) of Tweedledum Kennels.  The entry was 98 dogs.  

This show was held in the memory of Margaret Martin. Margaret was a founder member of the Club and arguably the first serious breeder of Labradors in this country. She was Simonville Labradors and many successful kennels such as Missenden, Croftway & Southerly have Simonville in their early breedings. She imported many dogs & bitches from kennnels such as Valross, Charway, Wendover, Othamcourt, Duffton & Roycourt. She bred the winner of the very first Championship Show in 1968 and Ch Simonville Silas QC left a number of very successful dogs. She was Patron of the club for many years and attended every Club Championship Show until moving to Sydney in the late nineties to be near her son.
