This is our Pottery page. Pottery has been taking up more and more of our time,
mine and Nan's. I help with decorating and some trimming, along
with a few ideas. I enjoy throwing on the wheel but seldom find the
time.
The lidded jar in the photo on the left will go to
Andrew for cookies.
We've been experimenting with a firing technique called "smoke firing". I made a kiln out of an oil drum and we are documenting each firing and the results.
Each firing is somewhat different and each pot comes out unique...sometimes good...sometimes not so good.
The following pieces were thrown by Nan and decorated by me. The two pairs of photos show the opposit sides of the vases.
