Chapter I

Origin

Who are we to presume to know the mind of God?

From the moment man became aware of his surroundings he has sought explanations for why things are. In the beginning, we attributed that which we did not understand to the work of invisible, all-powerful gods. Eventually, science muscled its way into the equation with its "cause and effect" single- mindedness. Yet, after 10,000 years of pondering and observation, no definitive answer has been found.

However, two theories have endured and risen to the forefront: Divine Creation, and the Big Bang. A brief overview of each follows.
