Origins of the C-vier Dam-H specie

Characteristics:
Humanoid hand-like shape with a tail.  The tail is a fully functional separate organism.
The tail is known to separate from the hand in 2 situations:
-Defense
-Procreation

In a combat-situation the 2 organisms will coordinate their attack for higher efficiency.
This specie is known for hunting and breeding alone. It is very aggressive and will even attack its own kind if its territorial boundaries are violated. The territory usually consists of abandoned places. This specie always has a secret hiding place known as the "SANCTUARY". In this sanctuary the hand and the tail rest united as one. No such place has ever been found but it is consistent with the knowledge accumulated on this specie.

The procreation process is quite unique:
The hand and tail separated will once again co-ordinate the attack on the host that will bear the seed of procreation. The hand usually grips the host, commonly a humanoid or animal victim, by its neck and slowly suffocate it /him. The tail in the meantime will penetrate the host's body through a wound inflicted with its sharp teeth. Inside the host the tail will decompose in a very short time (60-90 minutes) leaving nothing but a tiny egg. The remains of the tail are acid-like and decompose the hosts insides, transforming them into nutrition for the offspring and creating breeding space. The offspring's egg is permeable allowing the offspring to feed continuously. After one day the egg will break and let the offspring out. Inside the hosts body, the offspring will stay another 2 days, feeding on everything that can be found, even the remains of its egg.
During all this time the hand will protect the host or rather its offspring inside relentlessly, not leaving it for a second. Since the Hand is unable to feed in any way it only has a lifespan of 2 weeks. This makes it the perfect protection utility.
On the 3rd day a new C-vier Dam-H specie rises from the highly decomposed host body.
The lifespan of this specie is very short: 2 weeks maximum. That's why it will accumulate as much food/energy as possible inside its hosts body to survive during the next 2 weeks. This may result from its origins which must have been on a planet with a very rude climate.
Apparently the decomposition acid resulting from the tail has a DNA-testing ability. If the host has a very healthy body it will send an information to the egg thereby forcing it to split into 2 or even 4 eggs.
